im curious what would happen if you made your rear fan an intake

ID: gtddn1i

It would just feed the top two fans most likely. There is a 140mm noctua intake on the bottom as well.

ID: gtdepms

what if you drilled a hole in your desk so that the bottom intake fan was able to suck air easier, 3d printed a fan mount angling your rear fan (as an intake) downward and sautered a flat metal metal surface over the remaining GPU bracket space, clearing holes for tiny fans and mounting (as an intake)?

I love the case for the size and fan-mounts, but Gamers Nexus convinced me that the thermals are just too bad 🙁

ID: gtcxz47

I have the smaller matx case of this. The air flow is pretty bad. Ended up modding the case to fix it.

No issues with temps for me personally however I plan to dremel out the openings for the fans in the future.

ID: gtcmwc2

Seems prudent, and then keep the existing magnetic dust filter

Nice! How are you liking that gpu? Looks like a good build, but as another person pointed out, rotate the cpu cooler so it is exhausting out of the rear and not pulling in the air from the gpu.

Otherwise great job!

Love it so far! I actually get lower temps with it in this orientation, I've used it this way for about 10 years in various builds. You can kinda see the battle scars on it from all the use.

ID: gtcolk2

Well hey, what ever works for you. I can see how having it in that orientation, especially with the PSU in front of it, could possibly help.

I actually get lower temps with it in this orientation

Yeah because holy negative pressure batman! You've got 1 fan on intake and 3 on exhaust. Your top 2 exhaust fans would suck all the air up before it ever got a chance to go through the CPU cooler oriented the traditional way.

5 : Anonymous2021/04/04 13:51 ID: gtchywu

Your cpu cooler is oriented incorrectly, make sure the fan pushes air to the rear exhaust.

Tad bit of an upgrade.

case fans costing more than the PSU

ID: gtdcq1e

I got them used for $10CAD a piece, that PSU is actually a seasonic mk3 gold(tier A on LTT list) rebranded as XFX.

Good upgrade but grammar say 0

ID: gtcly30

Dude use your eyes lol. He has 3 exhausts. His top is an exhaust. So it's no different than doing it your way

ID: gtcmfw7

Bro I'm too lazy to use my eyes

I don't like the way you have your cpu heatsink positioned, but I guess it doesn't block the ram slots that way?

ID: gtdd8y9

It doesn't block in either orientation, my ram is crucial ballistix sport LT, its fairly low; however, i had to bend couple of the bottom fins back in the day when I had a kit of the original Gkill Tridents

11 : Anonymous2021/04/04 19:55 ID: gtdni2q

This actually might be good for a project that I'm working on. It's going to be the ultimate airflow/low temp. case

12 : Anonymous2021/04/04 21:09 ID: gtdvyf5

Upgrade off that case. And I don't necessarily mean a larger one. That one is just awful.
