Sometimes people who don't play games regularly use the PS5, so I'd like to point out what they should try.
And my digital library had been growing thanks to PS-plus, not all of them are hitter ( I don't think I've started most of them); not that I'm complaining, glad I get to try out games I wouldn't have bought. And not to mention all the demos and PS3 games on the same list, taunting me that I can't play them... -
No, it’s regularly brought up as one of the most absurd missing features from Sony. You also cannot hide anything such as old demos
ID: gtcu2lfID: gtcvkkyAs far as I’m aware you couldn’t do those things on PS4 either. At least not remove items from your library.
I may be wrong though
ID: gtd7csxSome PS3 games from a PS Now trial I took 3 FUCKING YEARS AGO keep showing up in my library. So annoying...
Like how is the UI THIS bad? Especially since the PS4 one was pretty decent.
ID: gtda7r6Yeah, my fiancé and I tried like 40 games on ps now, because why not? Now there is a solid chunk in the middle of my library from 2 years ago of that
ID: gtcszh9Yeah this gen my Xbox is pissin all over ps5.

I miss folders so much 🙁
ID: gtde0dcSame. I had them arranged by genre, but also with a dedicated folder for "currently playing" and one for co-op games only. Hoping they add this feature soon.
ID: gtdnrllYou're telling me PS5 doesn't have folders?? Oof.
ID: gtdu0mhSame here. I have 50+ PSVR titles that I had neatly arranged into a folder for quick access on PS4 for years. Switch to PS5 and I have zero way of narrowing down VR titles out of the other 400 games in my library (which I can only see, what, 9 at a time?)
Super duper frustrating to have such a huge step back at launch- especially when this has been a key feature on PS4 for years prior.
-
I love my PS5 to death but its frustrating that there is no customizing for both downloaded or owned games. Folders would be a super big help.
ID: gtcwf9ySorry for the question I haven't had a Playstation in a while but does The game library show All of your owned games not the just the ones currently downloaded?
ID: gtczfl5Depends on the section. I believe the first tab is all games and the second tab is just downloaded. There is also a section that is just PS Plus games.

I don't even want to try demos and stuff because it cutters my library. Even ps now games are stuck in your library even if you don't have a sub anymore. Same with games you played on discs and don't have anymore. Really need a hide feature so badly. My library is a shit show.
ID: gtd97sunow that you mention this, I might create a new throwaway account for just for Demos
ID: gtdkhvaHonestly not a bad idea but a lot of demos now are having progress carry over to the full game. I know they haven't explicitly said so but I feel very confident hiding/folders will be added to the library eventually. Definitely at least hiding.
ID: gtdo6j5In the game library if you push to the left side where the down arrow is you can sort by platform (PS3, PS4, and PS5) and with "source" you can uncheck PlayStation now and PlayStation Plus so it just shows your purchased games.
ID: gtdylnfThis is super helpful I probably should have noticed this. Thank you!!

Sony will improve this aspect over time for sure, but it’s a very stupid oversight from them. It should have been at least as good as on the PS4, option-wise, not a step back from it.
ID: gtdsypeThe PS4 UI was dogshit at launch too. It’s the last thing to go on the console and can be updated easily enough. I think people forget how shit the PS4 UI was at launch
ID: gte2fv7People didn’t forget. While we all know the UI will improve over time just like the PS4 and PS3 before it did, there’s no excuse for lagging behind your earlier console’s UI features set when these things were already thought of and implemented in your prior console after people required them.
A simple option to have the installed games library be the default tab that’s selected when we go to my library would be welcome, the option to view the update history for every games even when they’re not on the main page’s recently used games ( like, really, what the effin’ hell Sony?!), the omission of the folders option from the PS4 is the quite baffling, considering the PS5 UI is clearly going for a refinement of what they’ve done before. Sony knew well in advance of developing the PS5 that such features and conveniences were needed from users.
There’s really no excuse for them not to have implemented and built upon the foundation of the PS4’s UI instead of coming out the door lagging behind it.

lol what do you want some customizability or something? Not happening.

It's almost a joke at this point on Sony consoles, and one of the few problems I have with their UI. It took the PS3 a year after launch to get folders, and it took the PS4 almost 2 years to get them. How they can forgo such a basic feature at launch, especially after how much people asked for them the last 2 generations, is ridiculous. I'm sure they'll show up in a firmware update in the future, but for now we're stuck with the current setup.
-
iirc it just lists them in the most recently played order.
which of course is terrible for starting new games
ID: gtdt51lYou can sort ...
ID: gtducvdCool. Can you show me how to sort by PSVR titles?
-
If you only have a few games installed at a time, you can look at a folder with ones just installed! That's what I like to do.
-
Not yet, give it a year. PS3, PS4 and Vita all had these issues until there was an update to add folders.
ID: gtdt1hxYup exactly. People have bad/selective memories. All the shit we are saying about the ps5? We said it and MORE about the PS4. Remember how many PS4’s were bricked at launch?
-
is it possible to put games you already own on your wishlist? if so, that would be a workaround.

Wait you can’t do that on PS5 yet? Because you could definitely do that on PS4 from either the library itself or from the purchased page (possibly both)
