It was fucking weird, I have a friend in Indiana that did manage to get one, but he was able to add to cart and complete his purchase about 3-4 minutes before I even saw a product page/add to cart button and I checked multiple browsers/on my cellphone. I'm in Idaho for reference.

Kept refreshing and at 2 minutes after it changed to the midnight version and I was able to complete it. Bots and shuffles have been a pain. I feel fortunate but I feel bad more people couldn't snag one

They are so tone deaf. So few GPUs are allocated to DIY, most is being supplied to PC and laptop producers after console, and here with GPU drought they are launching a limited edition as if normal editions were available. And if, and thats a big if, stock isnt a issue getting ripped off by all kind of sellers is. Excuse me while I puke on floor next to the lovely fanart of Lisa Su that someone posted on here.

What are my chances of having bought one?
I mean, I could add it to chart and reach the paypal's button, clicked it, logged in and verified via phone number, choose the credit card and clicked pay. After that I checked i'm not a robot and place order and got redirected to the homepage of amd.com.
Now I still don't see the payment in paypal's history nor in my bank account. Does it takes some time to appear or I was just too late?

Really frustrated... supposedly this was only available and I quote the email "only on AMD.com through the page link below" ... link actually doesn't get you to correct place, was able to get to the " direct" buy section and add to cart would always result in an error... after a few tries and refresh .. it went out of stock.. then it disappeared... then I get Access Denied on both the DirectBuy section or by clicking the link on the email... I guess miners have a new lot now ... infuriatingly frustrated rn.

It was another bullshit release.
The "add to cart" did not show up until after it was actually out of stock.
I was refreshing on two IPs and it took around 10 minutes to even update.
The luck required is just as bad as bestbuy

In my location it never appeared even for a minute--this situation is becoming untenable. Now there are two AMD reference 6800XTs which I cannot buy--the original and now the so-called "black"--In >20 years of buying 3d GPUs I've never seen so many paper, vaporware GPU launches--ever! This is anything but a common event, in case anyone is maybe thinking it is.
Q: Why won't AMD take my money and ship me a 6800XT when it can?
A: Unknown.
Speculation: These are vaporware launches made to create the illusion of lots of GPUs being sold through "unprecedented demand." I do believe "demand" is high--but the problem is that "supply" cannot even begin to cope. If supply was healthy then meeting demand would not be a problem. What happens in these situations is that if demand for product A cannot be satisfied then those customers will move to buy another product altogether, possibly not even related! They'll find a new hobby, etc. Happens all the time.
This could all be solved with a Queue! AMD refuses to do so and only AMD knows why and AMD isn't sharing that with anyone.

I was able to check out at 8 no issues, but no confirmation email (using paypal). Then tried 4 other times and looked like it went through ok. But I still have no confirmations. Pretty annoyed at this point and paypal doesn't show any pending transactions....

Thats cool and all but I really don't care until you can actually buy ANY of amd's chips at MSRP. I mean does this company make like 100 chips a month?
