Could be for any number of projects. They’ve got exclusives for Stadia and PlayStation in development, as well as new installments of The Dark Pictures.

ID: gu1gk83

Isn’t there just one left? Or did they announce more?

ID: gu1gnzp

There’s 8 planned installments

It's crazy how until dawn came back in 2015 yet looks way better than dark pictures. The Dicema engine is something else.

I'd love to see them patch Until Dawn on PS5, or release an updated version on PC. Until Dawn looks great, but the performance is really lacking at times.

ID: gu3dcdg

Not sure if you tried it but it's uncapped on the PS5, runs at a nice 60fps

ID: gu33bwy

I dont know man. Little hope looks photo realistic at times

These guys really messed up with the Dark pictures thing. They thought Until Dawn fans would flock to it. It just looked way too boring

I think the biggest issue with the Dark Pictures series is the lack of a good budget.

With that said, really fun playing coop with others. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it playing solo.

ID: gu1rxef

If the writing had been anywhere near Until Dawn I would have enjoyed them regardless of the jank gameplay. Until Dawn had a fairly straight forward danger and a bunch of characters you try to keep alive. Man of Medan and Little Hope both seemed to forget why the first one was so compelling, and instead focused on mystery and twists, and cut down drastically on the QTE's where a character could die permanently. When the thrill of the game is to keep all the characters alive, I want the danger not to be all in someone's head. I want wendigo.

Yeah, I’d have preferred larger sequels with an Until Dawn sized budget. I also thought they should have kept Peter Stormare’s psychiatrist character and have the link between games involve other patients that he sees. The actor that plays the Curator in the Dark Pictures games is... fine, but kind of vanilla (despite him being loads of fun in the role he played, Herr Stark, in Preacher).

I do hope that they work on an Until Dawn: Rush of Blood 2 for the PSVR2 though... still one of my favorite VR games, despite it being a launch title for the first headset. Something about playing a shooting gallery, on a roller coaster, in a horror movie... was just a perfect fit for the controls and perspective/size/scale/depth/movement of VR.

I can't figure out if the lack of budget is the reason for the episodically format, or if it is because they hire Iceman and Will Poulter to cash in on hype and deliver mediocre experiences?

I know Until Dawn was a much bigger game, but some of the writing in these games have been really subpar. It's really impressive how they managed to make every character in these games unlikeable. In UD even though all the characters were initially pricks, at least you felt something for them.

ID: gu1es4u

I've played both of them so far and they've been decent party games. Until Dawn was the best, for sure, but the others aren't bad although I didn't like the ending to Little Hope.

ID: gu1ibw5

I'll probably pick it up when they inevitably release all of them on a single disc.

ID: gu1m9hl

I would totally buy that, even if they split it into a couple of anthologies since there's supposed to be 8 of them.

ID: gu2f4nz

Don't get your hopes up about that. Considering that the games are charged at 29.99 on release, getting them all for the cost of a single full price game would be a steal.

ID: gu1nc0c

They had potential but we're executed poorly. I enjoyed playing the second one with a friend but I wouldn't recommend it at all. I hope they go a different direction with this new game.

ID: gu1js38

I like them, but they're really short

ID: gu1nsvv

As a fan of both I flocked to them and loved them. It’s amazing how people have different opinions huh?

ID: gu1o7eg

I think everyone is aware that the is someone who likes pretty much everything. So I doubt it surprises anyone that you exist.

ID: gu1zk33

Did you like dark pictures in a serious way though? Or in a B movie sort of way? Until Dawn was a great story with great acting and really cool consequences for actions.

Dark Pictures has so far been filled with slow pacing, some of the genuinely worst video game acting I've ever seen (little hope especially) and really iffy writing. The visuals are excellent and that's the only good thing I can say.

ID: gu1zaos

As an Until Dawn fan, I DID flock to them.

Until the horrific acting and terrible storytelling turned me off completely.

ID: gu1rvvg

Until Dawn is not my type of game, but I loved it. The keeping your controller completely still mini game thing was so well done, I could feel my heart pumping

ID: gu27e9o

I was super pumped about them and flocked to them. I loved the idea of a shorter narrative driven game like Until Dawn.

The issue was the games themselves weren't good....

ID: gu37by8

their until dawn clout dried up for me. these last two dark pictures games were solid 5s all around, and that Inpatient game looked like it flopped hard.

I need to play these games. I utterly am obsessed with Detroit Become Human, so I should give these a whirl.

ID: gu1pjfu

Don't worry, Detroit Become Human will be a reality in a decade or two.

6 : Anonymous2021/04/10 11:31 ID: gu17l7g

Could also be the Stadia exclusive game they are making.

Either way, it's bound to be good!

ID: gu1c00s

No guarantees

ID: gu2oms4

True, although this is one of the developers I have faith in

ID: gu1ckdg

Stadia is still a thing?

ID: gu28cr2

The words “Stadia exclusive” are funny to me

ID: gu2nqy9

Why?

7 : Anonymous2021/04/10 12:26 ID: gu1btzj

This is better than a not secret unannounced game!

8 : Anonymous2021/04/10 21:51 ID: gu33juk

These guys haven't knocked it out of the park since Until Dawn.

Really hope they just go back to making fun, campy slasher movie games.

9 : Anonymous2021/04/10 10:08 ID: gu12f4n

Probably just the next dark pictures game

10 : Anonymous2021/04/10 14:58 ID: gu1r1xv

I loved until dawn until the supernatural shit. Even then it was still pretty good

11 : Anonymous2021/04/10 15:32 ID: gu1v02b

Until dawn is awesome

12 : Anonymous2021/04/10 16:27 ID: gu21uj4

The Last of Us Part 2 Remaster?

13 : Anonymous2021/04/10 18:53 ID: gu2j6wa

I'm hoping it's gonna be a PSVR2 game.

14 : Anonymous2021/04/10 19:15 ID: gu2lqxm

Isn’t this one gonna have real time combat? Excited to see their approach to that

15 : Anonymous2021/04/10 20:39 ID: gu2vg37

I may just be your run-of-the-mill janitor but I'll join!

16 : Anonymous2021/04/10 10:29 ID: gu13n1c

There were some rumors this one was going to be more than just an interactive movie.

17 : Anonymous2021/04/10 14:46 ID: gu1pijw

Until Prawn

18 : Anonymous2021/04/10 18:03 ID: gu2de9y

Sony prob told them to remake a horror game
