- Sky-high AMD Ryzen 9 5950X prices provide an unsettlingly discouraging snapshot for PC builders of the effects of the 2021 global chip shortage
-
Pc building will never be the same again.
ID: gu2z0ulID: gu20spbI remember thinking the same when DRAM prices were sky high in 2017 and the the mining boom was causing GPU prices to skyrocket.
ID: gu20xagHasnt let up since then? smh
ID: gu32fitThere are stacked containers full of GPUs, PSUs etc. in Chinese ports waiting for huge ships to get to them. One part is demand, another part is Covid precautions. Some of the workforce is not showing up, and those who show up need to get tested daily which adds delays.

My local store still sells 5950x at MSRP
-
what a shit article and waste of time. For anyone else let me summarize the article "Price of 5950x is above MSRP"... NO SHIT.
-
Yeah it's a shame. I went ahead and bought a 3900X at my local micro center and it's great!
-
900X and 950X series will always have bad stock at launch because they are highly binned parts. As time goes, there will be more better binned chiplets therefore more of these cpus.

For the first time in history Apple is starting to look budget friendly.
-
Might have to bite the bullet and just get a pre built pc.

ID: gu2tjpfAMD is a USA based company, why do you think they are not forced to implement backdoor into their CPU designs right now?
Also I'm not sure why we would prefer chines builtin backdoors to USA based backdoors? Or do you try to imply the ridiculous notion that china would for some reason not do that?
ID: gu2rzc6What does this even mean? LMFAO

I’m concerned there will be a lost generation of PC gamers the longer this chip shortage goes on
