Hey, since the 6800 XT has a USB-C port, is it possible to use the RIFT-S with just a long USB-C cable instead of DP+USB-A-> USB-C? if someone managed it how? i just ordered a RIFT-S and the support is not very helpful

I doubt it. It only looks for DP connections and ignores all other ports
ID: gupnkv2yeah but the USB-C on the 6800XT is a VirtualLink connector so Power+DP
ID: gupzn5lAMD did mention it would be nice for VR headsets, but as far as I can recall they never once said it actually was a certified VirtualLink™ port that conforms to every last detail of the VirtualLink specifications.

actually i have the same question, i have quest2, could i connect oculus link to this port?
ID: gups7kgyep that should work
ID: guqv02qI think oculus is releasing an update now for link to work wirelessly on quest 2 ; )

Enjoy it while it works considering it's a dead standard, lol.

My stupid MSI 6800 XT Gaming X Trio doesn't even have a USB C port. Why did I buy this card... Don't buy MSI people!

Rift unfortunately requires DP (you could connect it to gpu via DP to usb-c, but that would be pointless since you can just plug DP and you still need to connect usb-a), but something like quest 2 with link should work in theory.

I can confirm that the Quest 2 works just fine with Link on a 6800 XT's USB Type-C port. Comes in at a zippy 2.3 Gbps, plenty of bandwidth for Link.
Awesome, I get round 2gbps on b550i aorus usbc port. But let's be honest, we are waiting for air link and thinking about upgrading our routers 🙂
Thats good news. I gonna try link using my older Quest 1 and the RX 6800 (non XT)

Each of the new cards features ‘Infinity Cash,'
No wonder these cards are so expensive
