Not familiar with Luna’s work but if Pascal is Joel makes sense his brother would be Hispanic too. Interested to see who some of the other actors cast as side characters will be!

ID: guo4pibI think this makes sense, folks focus too much on casting look alikes, which is fucking dumb. You cast the best actor who can play the character, not whatever idiot off the street could pass as a twin.
ID: guoaqt2To be fair, I think in most cases you have to find a balance between both. Being the right person to bring the character to life is obviously the most important part, but if a character already has an established look that fans are familiar with, drastic changes to that look can make it hard to associate the actor with that character in their minds.
I do think this will be interesting though, because while he doesn't resemble Tommy's character in the game at all, I feel like he will do a great job with the character. And I'd much rather them drastically alter the characters' looks than drastically alter the story. I'm rather excited to see how this turns out.

He was okay in Terminator, and he's a Texas native it seems so that's a plus. Will be interesting when this series finally airs.

ID: guo28u3I completely forgot that he could do a Texas accent, but then seeing Terminator and Texas in the same sentence not only jogged my memory, but completely sold me on his ability to play Tommy.

Casting decisions for adaptations are primarily not about matching physical appearances but how well you can perform that character and bring out the emotional essence of the character to the surface. Makeup and costumes can do wonders to make someone look a certain way and looks aren’t that important anyways because it’s not a biography in the first place. I trust that the creators of the show are making right choices in their casting because both Druckmann and Mazin are great storytellers. Can’t wait for the show!

No doubt they're find actors and whatnot, but damn none of them come close to looking the part. Like... At all.
It's so wild. They legit have model references to go by. Compared to GoT, which had text descriptions and the casting in that was just amazing.
