For the next Play At Home update, would you like one or two AA or AAA titles(like Sony did with Horizon) OR A bunch of good Indie titles (like the 9 free games they gave in April)

1 : Anonymous2021/04/25 08:13 ID: my3syz

While a good AAA title like GT Sport or Uncharted The Lost Legacy would be great, most people would have already bought it or claimed it as a part of PS plus. On the other hand, a bunch of Indies would not excite as many people, but more would get to try those games and support the smaller studios. What would you prefer?

Edit: Uncharted 5 to Uncharted Lost Legacy

I'd rather one or two titles I might play than 9 I'm almost definitely not going to play

ID: gvsub9q

I agree, I can see the appeal to indie games, but I’d rather get stuck into a good long AAA title then 9 different indie games.

ID: gvsuxas

I think that 9 different indie games may instead mean that you may like 1 out of the 9 if they vary them enough.

ID: gvtit53

For what its worth Subnautica is also really good. I cranked it up just to see what it was about because I didn't know a single thing about it. I immediately got sucked into its loop.

ID: gvt3tpl

This. If the first set of indies are to go by, id definitely prefer the AA or the AAA

ID: gvu1ywf

That's a shame. Every single one of the games from the last pack of Indie stuff is worth playing.

ID: gvtmngi

I'm currently sick of AAA titles and could use some unique indie games in my life

3 : Anonymous2021/04/25 10:59 ID: gvt21hs

First I wouldn’t consider Lost Legacy Uncharted 5 as I didn’t consider Golden Abyss Uncharted 4, but I think a triple A game would be the best way, unless the Indie game is like a port announcement like Hades for example.

ID: gvtm9lo

Hey, GA is good!

ID: gvtxx17

It might be good but it is a spin-off not a mainline entry.

4 : Anonymous2021/04/25 09:44 ID: gvsxa85

It's going to be two more AAA games, one in may and another in june. First two were playstation greatest hits, so next two might be as well.

The 9 games were great but 4 of them were VR exclusive so it was more like 5 games for most of us. I would most definitely not call most of those games "indies". Subnautica is at least AA and Astrobot is AAA VR.

I had R&C on my ps+ collection and a physical copy of Horizon complete. I am hoping I don't own at least one of the next two. Come on GT sport!

ID: gvt4jz8

I am hoping I don't own at least one of the next two

If you've already bought most of the playstation hits, or ps exclusives, then you probably own them already lol

ID: gvt5804

The only one of the greatest hits I owned that was not in the PS+ collection was Horizon (though I owned the physical for a few that are). And outside of the PS+ collection, I only own GoT and Spider-man as Sony made exclusives. There's still a decent chance I'll get at least one new game out of the two coming up.

ID: gvtgo53

My guess is 1 will be GoW considering 2 is supposed to come out within a yr or 2

ID: gvtiqh7

Then it would make more sense giving it away next year. That's what I was thinking anyway.

If it is then I will have 3 copies of God of War, can't think of many other games that deserve such an honor.

ID: gvtcel1

What was the other greatest hit with one of them being Horizon Zero Dawn?

ID: gvtcnd9

Ratchet & Clank

5 : Anonymous2021/04/25 08:15 ID: gvsrxsp

most people would have already bought it or claimed it as a part of PS plus.

It is my understanding that Play at home are for people who might not be able to afford PS+ or AAA games.

If you have bought these games why not just support the indie develops directly? You're in no obligation to benefit from Play at Home. Others might be.

6 : Anonymous2021/04/25 11:34 ID: gvt4fcc

uncharted 5 would be really unexpected.. considering its not even out or announced yet lol

ID: gvtfgeq

Probably referring to Lost Legacy

ID: gvtiunf

Imagine if the actually were like “well, this game was secretly in development all this time and now it’s yours for free”

ID: gvtf9r2

Exactly, i was like wait what

7 : Anonymous2021/04/25 14:18 ID: gvtiq2k

I just want shit I don't already own tbh

8 : Anonymous2021/04/25 13:18 ID: gvtcxfq

I just appreciate free games. Anything to add to the library would be awesome.

9 : Anonymous2021/04/25 12:03 ID: gvt6jg4

I've played most of the big AAA games already so I would rather have the indies. If they added 9 free games then the chances are I will like at least one of them.

10 : Anonymous2021/04/25 09:38 ID: gvswxh7

Anything is okay. BC it's free, I just appreciate that.

ID: gvtet8w

But what OP is asking, is if you had a choice of what free game you get the download, what you would actually play.

If you play every single free game you can play or gets offered to you, you must have a lot of time on your hands, because that's what you're giving them in return for that free game.

11 : Anonymous2021/04/25 13:59 ID: gvtgtmg

Gravity Rush 1 and 2.

12 : Anonymous2021/04/25 14:07 ID: gvthlbx

More indie games, please. Most of the AAA games I'm interested in I either own or were part of the ps+ collection. In the latest play at home, Abzu and Subnautica were fun little adventures and The Witness is a gem of a game. Seriously, if anyone hasn't played it, do; it's quickly become on of my favourite puzzle games ever.

13 : Anonymous2021/04/25 08:50 ID: gvsu125

I’m not really a fan of indies, I like some but the ones in the previous play at home bundle, I didn’t really like. so a AAA title that I haven’t played before will be nice, but i’m not expecting much

14 : Anonymous2021/04/25 08:15 ID: gvsrxb0

I wouldn't mind a bunch of indie games, tbh. Theres probably a lot of hidden gems out there

15 : Anonymous2021/04/25 13:40 ID: gvtf2ws

I will probably go for the 9 indies. Most of the mainstream big titles I buy anyways and then feel "scammed" when they are free on PS+, PS Collection or PlayAtHome but the chance of having at least 2-3 indie games that I didnt play is huge and honestly many indie games are VERY underrated and pretty good.

The other variant that is pretty good currently is bringing new launch games into such consideration because then everybody can profit from them but of course it might not be what Sony wants in terms of business invest.

16 : Anonymous2021/04/25 11:55 ID: gvt5xym

I'd be glad to get another bunch of indies. I've had a great time with Subnautica and Rez Infinite so far, and although I had already played Abzû that one was good as well. The Witness has been in my PC backlog forever so that's another good one, and seeing as I like rhythm games I'll probably like Thumper as well.

17 : Anonymous2021/04/25 12:53 ID: gvtapny

Personally, I’m less likely to have already played the indies.

From a broader company perspective, it makes a lot more sense to try to find one big marquee title for the promotion instead.

18 : Anonymous2021/04/25 14:23 ID: gvtj92g

Ya heres a free game that 90% of the player base owns, whats next God of War?

19 : Anonymous2021/04/25 15:32 ID: gvtr8n9

What makes you think there’s another one?

20 : Anonymous2021/04/25 21:12 ID: gvuy9x3

Next play at home update?

next?

21 : Anonymous2021/04/25 15:15 ID: gvtp8rm

One free game voucher would be cool so we can all pick our own.

ID: gvtv72y

This is the best answer I have seen! I would prefer some more indie titles, as I have most likely played all the AAA I would be interested in. Plus subnautica is one of the best games I have played in a long time. But being able to pick my own game is a much better idea.

22 : Anonymous2021/04/25 09:58 ID: gvsy6fl

I would kind of like to see games like Death Stranding or STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order released, but I don't see either of those being released, especially as Death Stranding is still fairly new and EA would likely rather liquidate than give a game away for free, especially STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order.

23 : Anonymous2021/04/25 10:28 ID: gvt027w

AAA game becaue Im sure ill play it. I dont want 9 games that ive never heard and I will never play.

24 : Anonymous2021/04/25 10:50 ID: gvt1hla

Imagine if DEATH STRANDING was part of the next Play@Home update.

ID: gvt398c

Kojima will be very happy 😀

ID: gvtm4lm

I would love for the first strand-type game to be in Play@Home

25 : Anonymous2021/04/25 09:49 ID: gvsxme3

Hit me with those indie games. It’s hard to overlook AAA games that I might like and therefore have already bought. But it’s very easy to miss good indie games.

26 : Anonymous2021/04/25 10:41 ID: gvt0vew

Indies. I like indies.

27 : Anonymous2021/04/25 13:08 ID: gvtbzm5

Some lesser known AAs. I like Indies a lot but there's way too many metroidvania ones. Likely will end up with 9/10 of them being one lol

28 : Anonymous2021/04/25 13:32 ID: gvte9sa

I’d rather get a few AA games and a few more Indie titles to round out the catalog for a total of 4-6 games.

TBH, there are so many amazing AA games that most people never give the time of day to simply because of all the overhyped AAA games out there.

29 : Anonymous2021/04/25 14:12 ID: gvti3md

I would prefer 9 indie titles because the chance of already owning them would be much less for me.

It‘s quite likely that the next AA/AAA game is already in my collection. Especially if it‘s another playstation exclusive title. The only ones I don‘t have are Uncharted: Lost Legacy & Gran Turismo: Sport.

I think God of War or GT: Sport are most likely, since Days Gone is already on PS Plus, Uncharted 4 was also on PS Plus, Bloodborne too and Ratchet & Clank was already free two times. Spider-Man also has chance, but considering that its sales are still strong, I wouldn‘t bet on it.

30 : Anonymous2021/04/25 14:40 ID: gvtl3g4

Depends on the quality of the indie games.

I think a mix and balance between one AAA game and then 3 or 4 indie games would be a great choice!
