We are fixing the issue now and a new patch will be published in a few hours
All users affected by the 1.3.3 need to re-download the game.

ID: gx3u38wJust lost my entire Returnal save. This is so upsetting. The update corrupted my save and then overwrote my cloud save with the new save. I had just beat the game, unlocked all of the permanent unlocks, and they are now gone. Yeah, 30 hours of gameplay completely lost.

Went into first boss with dash malfunction and got to last phase with no pots. Got by far my best run so far and only boss remaining, like i was stacked. Only to find out that it won't matter if i kill the boss or not since the save is gone... Luckily it's only the first boss
ID: gx39pmtAs you get better, that boss will begin to feel easier than basic enemies later on. Since I've lost so many "stacked" runs to stupid crap, the save error isnt really that big a deal in the long run

I was having a great run, had tripple my heath so kinda refused to quit despite the error. Ended up completing the game. Even did the final boss on the first attempt. Really loving the game but I dont know if I can be bothered doing that all again took about 3 hours got really lucky with gear and ended up maxing my weapon skill to 30.

Sucks, but good on them for pulling it. Hope they're able to get a patch out quick. Shit happens and it seems like console releases are becoming more and more like PC releases. This is somewhat par for the course in that realm.

I don't get it. I have the error pop up, it doesn't save after I die but I can still play normally. Does this mean that my save file will never be able to save a run from now on even after they patch this? Like is it gone for good and I'm wasting my time if I redownload the game/wait for the fix and play in the same file?

New PS5 games are now $102 in Canada since the PS Store just added sales tax. These kinds of issues are not acceptable if people are paying this much

I lost my entire save file. I was literally finding the last sun fragment on Biome 6 to complete the game's story, and the game crashed and notified me the save was corrupted and had been deleted. I've never encountered something as ridiculous as that.

This shit makes me nervous to keep playing. I loved what I played so far and haven’t ran into issues, but a mid save feature would be nice to have and for these bugs to be properly ironed out before I lose a ton of progress.

I'm kinda glad I didn't get this game on launch. While it looks super fun it also looks like it wasn't quite ready to ship with all the bugs and crashes. That paired with the no quick save... Yeah, waiting was probably a good call. Can't wait to play it when all the kinks are ironed out.

ID: gx3hi23I don't think there's quite as many bugs as it seems. I've got about 25 hours in and the only bug I had was the doors not opening once and it was at the very start of a run. It's definitely not a buggy game. The lack of a save feature, however, is terrible.
ID: gx3hwykObviously today's hiccup is an issue, but a buddy and I have put about 30 hours each into the game, and neither of us has had a crash. I did suffer an audio bug late into one of my runs, but I kept playing. The game has crashed less on me than literally every PS5 game I've played except Sackboy.
Not being able to save is a design decision, not a bug. If you're waiting for that to get "fixed", I wouldn't hold your breath. The game is great right now, and it's gonna be in my GotY for sure.
