I'm actually so annoyed that folks who got the PS+ version of the remake aren't getting the PS5 update and can't buy the new DLC chapters separately, we have to buy the whole $70 game which is absurd. I already pay for my PS+ subscription, I shouldn't be punished for that . It's just so infuriating because I totally would've bought the DLC separately because I loved the game (I just beat it like a couple of days ago) and this news has really soured the experience a little bit. I'm just skipping it until the game is on sale for cheap or something

You literally got a brand new game for free less than a year after it came out. And people who bought the game originally get a free upgrade on PS5. With the DLC being £20. Sounds perfectly fair to me. 5 years ago youd not have got anything for free at all at this standard.

I pay for PS+, the game itself was not free. I do admit that the fact that it was given out so quickly after release is great, but gatekeeping the DLC behind a full purchase is absurd to me. If I could just pay $20 for the DLC I would be content, but $70? Like does that actually seem fair? This is a genuine question because I'm actually not trying to be entitled. I'm not against people convincing me otherwise but just throwing around childish rhetoric is really sad. Like I don't mind supporting the developers, but being consumer friendly is also a big part of maintaining a good relationship with fans and it seems to me like this wasn't the way to go

The "majority" of Redditors would disagree somehow, I feel like I'm the only one who thinks locking the upgrade makes no sense. Hell I might have even bought the PS5 DLC if they gave the base upgrade free.
Now to play DLC. I need to buy the base game which I already "owned" and played. Makes no sense.

You dont have to buy the whole $70 version, just get a cheap ps4 version. You're being a bit ridiculous dude, it's a pretty easy thing to get around. You are not entitled to the uograde because you never paid for the game. With a cheap ps4 copy, you'll still get the uograde as long as you get rid of the ps plus version. Simple

this doesn't make sense at all. 'diehards' would've bought the game, and are getting a free upgrade. They don't need to pay a single penny. So your comment about them trying to milk diehards falls flat - they are milking zilch from them.
If you got it from PS+ then you are re-buying it - you never bought it in the first place.
