- Throw down the gauntlet in Chivalry 2's open beta, available for free on PS5 starting May 27
Nice! Excited to see how this one turns out! Definitely going to try it!ID: gyg4qil
I’m biased as I’m a fan of the genre, but I played the closed beta on PS5 and it was amazing! Very fun, good combat and the objectives lead to good fights!
I had a tonne of fun in the closed Beta, even though I sucked ass at it.ID: gyg0fof
What is this game? A sword and board melee brawl?ID: gyg6z8d
Pretty much, like medieval storming castles and shitID: gygcl71
A dating sim about millenials.ID: gyhabfy
A game about 2 gay bros in the knights order struggling to keep their romance afloat and risking the chilvaric honor they've built up, all for one more night together.ID: gyg9p71
Is it a performative dance show like it’s predecessor, or does it resemble actual combat?ID: gyggnpk
No more ballerinas!
Finally . This game is awesome but got 0 marketing so far . An open beta was a no brainer. I guarantee lots of people are gonna pre order after trying the game . This is gonna be great for the player base
Everyone needs to try this. The closed beta was so impressive and fun.ID: gyggav4
Looks fun! Never tried part 1 how would you describe it?ID: gyghdxz
Well I never played chiv one as I've always been a console player. The closed beta for chiv 2 was chaotic fun. 64vs64 knights trying to capture/defend multiple stages on battlefield size maps. There's so much freedom on how to fight and I've never laughed out loud as much as I have in any multiplayer game. What to try and kill someone with a flaming chicken? Wanna try to throw your sword like a javelin? Maybe even try to just run around and punch everyone? All possible here and its great fun in my opinion. There's also other varied game modes and classes that give a good amount of diversity.ID: gyguf7i
I'd describe it a medieval battlefield, absolute chaos, great fun. Rewarding combat system easy to learn hard to master etc.
SO hyped. I dont usually play multiplayer games but Chivalry has always been something special to me. Cant fucking wait to play this
AAAAAAAGGGGGAAAAATTTTTTHHHHAAAAA-RAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! - Guy spamming war cry
I had zero expectations for this game as I've never played anything like it but after a few hours in the closed beta it was an instant pre-order for me. It's easily my most anticipated game coming out. It is so damn fun.
Trailer they just released announcing the open beta.ID: gyhsm53
Closed beta required a preorder though...
Unless they handed out keys elsewhere cause I have seen that before.ID: gyicclv
There were keys floating around and people handing out extras. Also, several sites were giving them away but most of those were XBox.
The first game was pure comedy gold. Hope they were able to keep the light-heartedness in this sequel. Also hope there isn't any crossplay. The way parrying works I bet pc players will slaughter console players.ID: gygeocx
There is cross play but it can be disabledID: gygf5vy
Guess it's good to have the option. Now just hope the playerbase on PlayStation gets big enough for it to actually work.ID: gyhee7g
A console only crossplay would be great, although we never get it.ID: gyicsa8
Actually, most games ended with several console players near the top of the scoreboard in kills and there was one guy I played with for several games that was the top for 3 games in a row playing on Playstation. I never felt like I was being beaten unfairly playing on controller. On the other hand, I was dying because I just wasn't as good as some people and wasn't skilled enough to know which moves to use in certain situations.
Awesome. I’d pre ordered physical copy so missed out on previous betas that were for digital pre orders, will look forward to this
Nice I'm glad there is an open beta.
I'm very hyped for this game after playing the Closed Beta. I strongly suggest you guys try it out
Even if it doesn't like your kinda game, give it a shot. I didn't think so either. 500+ hours of Chiv 1 and 650+ of Mordhau later...
Yeah I'm biased and I recommendID: gyge65m
Looks good! And good advice especially given it's a beta.ID: gygo1w6
I’m gonna leech off you since you know about this game.
What size of parties does it support and is it easy to get 6-8 friends in the same game?
Thanks but I’ll be balls deep in Biomutant by then.ID: gygb0dw
Pull it out and shove yourself down the throat of chivalry in between
I guess I'll try it. Doesn't look like my type of game though.
Does it have ray tracing and full dualsense functionality?ID: gygc6z5
On the PSN game page: "Fully Forged for PlayStation 5. Made to take full advantage of the PS5 hardware, Chivalry 2’s 64-player medieval madness runs in a glorious 4K at 60 FPS with beautifully rendered details, ray-tracing, immersive haptic feedback, and other significant improvements made possible on PlayStation 5. Chivalry 2 also supports cross-generational upgrades from current gen versions when you upgrade to a PlayStation 5 system."ID: gyg3pka
the latter is more likely than the former, but that shouldn't sway anybody too hardID: gygfyq4
The vibrations were pretty nice and the triggers get used when using the bow or when you are running low on staminaID: gyg6imq
On the discord the devs said there will be some haptic feedback, as well as ray tracing. Ray tracing is coming at launch, however I don't know about the haptics.
I think June 9th is when game comes out
Will I need ps plus for the beta?ID: gyge0rj
You don’tID: gygenel
Cool, thanks, but I will for the actual game, right?
That’s an awfully hot oil pot
Defo worth a play I preordered it after getting a code for the alpha on the PS5 great fun game to play with a few mates and beers
Nice try Wallet. You know damn well you're buying me biomutant.
Ah classic twitter comments being a shit hole again.
Played the closed beta though, would recommend. Can’t play it now tho since the damn PS5 is gonna be my first playstation but I can’t get my hands on it cuz no stock 🙁
It’s good fun, definitely worth a try and it has that classic Chiv1 silly humour
Think Battlefield but with Swords. Sign me up.
I'd be more excited to see Mount & Blade Bannerlord! but gonna keep a close eye on this one's reviews too. The price suggests it is not an AAA, so probably no story mode?
It did release around 7 years after Chivalry.
Is it cross-platform?
