ID: gzbns7yA ton of fun for the dogfighting with a really high skill ceiling. Played in VR on PC and VR is definitely the way to go with it if you have that option.

Would be cool to get Star Wars squadrons. Been looking at that game for a while now was just worried I wouldn’t be able to get into it because it appears to be more simulator like with the way they use the shields and thrusters.

ID: gzb8hobIt's fantastic, and playing in VR is almost a straight-up advantage.

ID: gzastacIt's well balanced between sim and arcade. Probably a bit more on the sim side but everything is there on your controller. You definitely have to manage your subsystems constantly but it's not something you can't pick up soon after you finish the campaign.
I absolutely love Squadrons and I've been looking for an excuse to get back into it.

ID: gzc2aqxIt's pretty arcadey and anyone can jump it just it takes awhile to master. You can do pretty well not knowing anything about charging power, shunting power and balancing shields, it's just there if you want the edge.
ID: gzbshmwJust don’t expect a lot from multiplayer. I’m sure it being free will populate it more but as of now there’s almost no players.

Note Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown has not yet been released yet. The last released game was (ironically) Final Showdown. Therefore we are probably looking at a remaster of sorts, with better character models, maybe a new character or two?

Star Wars Squadrons would be amazing for PS+. The only reason I didn’t buy it was because I was worried about empty lobbies. But if it comes to PS+, it will have very full lobbies for at least the next month.

ID: gzb7iw7It’s weird when I see games like this my brain still tags it as cutting edge 3D game.
The graphical jump from the 16bit era to 32 was so huge for me as a kid. It’s still imprinted as such a huge deal to me.
ID: gzb7u5pI played it a bit in my recent playthrough of Yakuza Like A Dragon. They had in game arcades you could go to and play old school sega games.
ID: gzc1yp6And while they do a normally great job of making sure they're contemporary games in both age and popularity, they made one fun mistake: Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is playable in the prologue of Like a Dragon, despite the prologue taking place 11 years before it would come out. 🙂

Well that is mostly likely 100% accurate because I just bought Squadrons about 3 weeks ago and that's how that works. Same thing happened with Control. I just bought Scott Pilgrim vs the World The Game so expect that to be in the July PS+ titles.
I'll report back with the other games I buy so you know what to expect for August.

Star Wars Squadrons has a PSVR mode right?
I think my June will be taken up by Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Ratchet and Clank anyway!
