This game’s upgrade can be very confusing for many so here’s how to do it. First of all, you need to own FF7R digitally or physically (the one from PS Plus is not eligible). If you are claiming your upgrade with the physical copy, make sure the disc is inserted (the disc will have to be inserted when playing the upgraded version btw). Now go to the PS Store, search ‘Intergrade’ and open the product page. Click on the three dots icon and select the option “…upgrade for PS4 version owners”. You should now be able to claim your free PS5 upgrade. If the option is not visible from the three dots, it means Intergrade hasn’t released in your region yet (as I’m writing this post, it’s currently not available in the US). If you own the PS Plus version and desperately want the PS5 upgrade, I highly recommend purchasing a used physical copy to claim it. One thing to add, you will need to open your PS4 version to download your saved data (if you want to carry it over). Then open the PS5 version and upload that saved data. And since many people asked, the Yuffie DLC is not included in the free upgrade, it must be purchased (£20 in UK)
FOR EVERYONE who played the PS4 version, please make sure you download the saved data from its main menu and then open the PS5 version to upload it and carry it over. To transfer saved data, you’ll need to make sure you’re on the game’s latest update

Dont forget to download the free PS5 version DLC item pack for the original ps4 release pre order and digital deluxe version Summons + some items previously only obtainable from the US promotional offers. Carbuncle summon is free heals and revives.
Edit: For those asking how? Go to the ff7 PS5 game page in the store, look for the add-on section. It should be there and be free.

Search divine weapon. Having barrier on when Bahamut casts megaflare halves the damage. And make sure all your materia is fully levelled up.

Just a heads up, that if you want to transfer your save data to the PS5 game, you have to upload it from the PS4 games menu. Once uploaded you can open the PS5 game and download it from there. The PS5 has its own trophy list and the trophies transfer over once you move your save over.

It didn’t need to be this hard. Every free upgrade so far has been in a big hard to miss box on the right side of the game hub for the PS4 version. I felt like I only found it because I just kept clicking on stuff because I knew it had to be there somewhere.

As of 12:04am Eastern time, I’m still not able to download it in the US…am I looking in the wrong spot? Or does it not launch at exactly midnight?
Edit: Never mind - kept checking and the option to download the upgrade showed up around 12:07am for me. Kind of a janky system, and wish we could have preloaded, but at least it looks like you only need to download 13 of the 80 total gigs to start playing.

I downloaded the ps+ version bc i was too lazy to keep swapping disc out when I got my ps5. Since I had both a ps4 & ps5 I decided to give my gf my ps4 so she can use it to watch stuff. I checked my FF7 case right now to pop in the disc and noticed its missing. I think I left it in my ps4. PAIN.

If you're in the States, download is now live.
Go straight to the PSN store and look up FF7R Integrade, and scroll down, you should see an option for "FF7R Upgrade for PS4 version owners", just hit Add to Library and start your download from your PS5 if you're eligible.

I didn't see anyone discussing this, and its probably a non-issue.
I claimed the free ps5 upgrade, but is it ok for the title to still just say "ff7 remake" instead of "remake integrade"
It was an 80gig download so I'm assuming its integrade. Just odd that the title screen doesn't reflect it.

Do I still need the ps4 version installed on my ps5?
Edit: Make sure to delete the ps4 version as soon as you can. I ended up playing the first hour on the PS4 version on accident. It wasnt clear on how to play PS5 version over the PS4 version. The only way I managed to do that was by deleting the PS4 version.

They have a digital version of the $69.99 ps5 version. I’m guessing you can just get that if you owned the ps+ version and don’t want to buy physical)
