DISNEY and UBISOFT sitting in one boat? Feels like a little bit of Titanic here...
ID: h1y5c5dID: h1y5vrtYeah, I hope the band stays till the end for sure

I just can’t believe Avatar is going to be a first person game. Idk why but seemed like a no brainer 3rd person game.
ID: h1xrcrtIt does seem better suited for a third person game, but I assume they’re going the route of the player is in the tank as a Navi so to immerse that story, it has to be first person.
ID: h1ydgmhThe irony to me is that first person isn’t immersive at all. It looks goofy with appendages floating on screen and being unable to see the character interacting with the environment just takes me right out of it. First person to me is only good for FPS and VR games. Maybe this game will be compatible with VR, but I’ll be passing on it due to first person.
ID: h1y3jtxAll I can imagine is Far Cry: Avatar and I don't want that
ID: h1yjam1Honestly I was a bit disappointed by the Avatar trailer but no doubt it’s improved for the released game
This is one I’ll surely wait for reviews on
ID: h1zizw5Probably gonna try for VR. James Cameron is always about new technology.
ID: h1xu4lzI’m so sick of first person games. Fuck first person.
ID: h1zqywuI like first person 🙁
ID: h1xunqhAgreed devs only do 1st person because it's easier, basically a cop out.
ID: h1xxkkwYour speaking out of my soul sir !
ID: h1y6uiwNot at all, they probably want to immerse you in the world as if you're a resident of pandora indeed and not someone watching it unfold from afar
ID: h1y7i8xNever had an issue with immersion in the plenty of 3rd person games I've played.
ID: h1y3sp3Long time ago wen they announced Avatar for the first time, i saw it in a boot Ubisoft was playing the game in third person, really looked good! Strange they have changed the game to first person after all those years... It really looked solid back then.

Out of everything e3 showed I really think Avatar was the most forgotten about title. I watched the reveal and forgot it existed until this post.
ID: h1xe63qYea agreed. It could be cool, but there just wasn’t much to go on in terms of what the game will be.
ID: h1xgn6gJust like the movie.
ID: h1xky5i[deleted]
ID: h207qepThe Reddit hate boner for Avatar never ceases to amaze me. It's like a trip right back to 2010 every time I hear it.
ID: h1zdyj2Replaced? Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes? Tribes of Midgard? Babylons Fall?
No hate ofc but I forgot all four of those games until I just looked up what games were E3.
ID: h1zguxxBecause they didn't show anything
A splash screen with "we are making an avatar game, not the air bender one but blue alien one" would have been just as informative.
ID: h1y7894Its my most anticipated game from e3
Please speak for yourself
ID: h1zn7ozHe literally was speaking for himself dumbass..
ID: h1yrvixNo I wont

Disney let Insomniac make a Star Wars game after all the success the company has been having in the gaming world.
Now that's a headline I'd love to see.
ID: h1y4pmrYes 100%. I’m not sure if they are the best for huge open world type games but from a narrative focused shorter game they are perfect and make some of the most fun action gameplay in the whole industry
ID: h1yeq8uthey did great with new york in the Spider-Man games

I have no trust in Ubisoft. I have a PS5 DE and it still hurts after I bought assassins creed Valhalla
ID: h1zcdweThey seemed to be getting a good rhythm going with Origins and then Odyssey and Immortals was a refreshing change aaand it's Valhalla. Yikes.
Although honestly, the Ghost of Tsushima sequel is going to be what will kill Assassin's Creed. Sucker Punch pulled off what Ubisoft has tried to make for years. And gave us a free multiplayer game mode as the cherry on top.
ID: h20kjcyI really feel like you're just sucking up to popular online opinions. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is awesome. The pattern always goes, new AC game comes out, "fans" claim to hate it but still play it, the next game in the series comes out (a better one I might add) and suddenly the one that they were previously shitting on they praise years later. Hell, look at Odyssey. For me, it wasn't a very good game, and the bullshit that went on around that time can attest to that. But now suddenly Odyssey is the gold standard of how to do an AC game, even though Valhalla is better.
Also Ghost of Tsushima is really just okay. Funny yih say that about AC and Ghost of Tsushima, when Valhalla actually has more traditional open world signatures (weapon and armor variety, traveling by boat, more than one species of mount, etc.) that Ghost of Tsushima lacks. In a lot of ways I think much of the praise that game got was just coming from the Last of Us 2 hate crowd that was just using it in an attempt to spite Part 2 since they came out around the same time.
ID: h1zgszoSwitch Avatar with AC Valhalla and this comment chain from the same thread becomes 100% relevant

Why does it always feel like the industry is trying to brute force Avatar into being this massive phenomenon of a franchise? I mean, the first movie was decent...but that's about it. Other than it pushing the boundaries for 3D movies (which aren't a thing anymore), I don't know see what sets it apart.
ID: h1xx1l7Avatar is still the highest grossing film in existence, the marketing potential is massive and there's a lot of money to be made from this IP. I'm surprised it took them this long to make a sequel and AAA game.
The movie was meh imo (story wise) but it changed CGI forever.
ID: h1xxgkzIt still baffles me how it's the highest grossing movie of all time. It just feels like it was made that way by sheer will alone! I never see or hear much of a fandom around it!
ID: h1xy97lIt was the highest grossing movie until endgame
ID: h1y66wvDid avengers endgame not break that record or am I mistaken?

UBI soft will fuck this up.
-
I’m actually curious, who even asked for an Avatar game?
Seems like the 5 of you got what you wished for.
-
Imagine a fromsoftware Star Wars game
ID: h1z1vymIt's called Jedi Fallen Order lol
-
First person games are just unplayable for me I can’t stand them
ID: h1yhba5Then ignore them ?
But it really depends on the type of the Game at least for me. -
Time for the Disney filter to ruin another Star Wars game
ID: h1z9l6gThat will happen until the end of time unfortunately
-
Ubisoft is the worst.
-
The Star Wars franchise was such a missed opportunity the past decade with EA and now it's likely heading towards a march of mediocrity with Ubisoft the next one. We likely won't see another good Star Wars game at least until 2030....what a damn shame
-
"We're making this bullshit Avatar game right now but lemme tell you about what we could do with Star Wars!"
-
Well at least it’s a step up from EA

Can EA be the band and Todd Howard the captain?
