The Japanese lip sync issue being addressed is really cool

ID: h3p964iThe cutscenes are being rendered in real time on the PS5 which allows them to change the mouth animations for Japanese lip sync. Sounds like it’s not possible on PS4 since cutscenes there are prerendered.

While the price is fair for a completely new expansion, they could have done something like FF7R and given the PS5 upgrade for free and charge 30$ for the dlc.

If you don't have the original you have to pay 60$ for the PS4 version and 70$ for the PS5 version.

We’ve heard your feedback about the lack of Japanese lip sync in the original version of Ghost of Tsushima, and it’s something we worked hard to address in this new release. Thanks to the PS5’s ability to render cinematics in real time, cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima and on Iki Island on PS5 will now offer lip sync for Japanese voice over.

Only the Directors cut ps4 can upgrade to ps5 version.
thus meaning previous owners have to spend either $30 to straight upgrade or $20 to upgrade to Directora cut ps4 and then $10 on top of that.

Then they can sell an $80 Ultimate Edition of Forbidden West that has both games, like what they did for Miles Morales (except that was $70 because MM stand-alone was $50)

So hyped for the Japanese lip sync. Will definitely be replaying it in Japanese and Kurosawa mode!
ID: h3p7hq7also switch the difficulty to Lethal Mode. make it authentic as possible. It became my preferred way to experience the game.
ID: h3pb1z1And it's not just the authentic part about this that's great. Enemies aren't sponges anymore. Yes you can get killed faster but so can the enemy and the combat system is so perfect balanced that this mode is by far the best one for this game.

I wonder how the upgrade works with Physical disk.. do you get the PS5 version digitally or do you always need the disk as a license check?

30 bucks for PS5 Upgrade lol. Why can't we have a standard PS5 version upgrade for free? FF7R Intergrade did it... Not really a fan of the paid upgrade path Sony's been doing.
They first did it with Spider-Man Remastered for $20, which I bit because I'm a Spider-Man shill but this is getting concerning now.

So yeah, the $10 part is definitely lame but $20-$30 for DLC is pretty standard.

Why do PS5 users have to pay $10 more for the upgrade? Is Sony not making enough money?
I also bet the PS5 upgrade will be $47 in Europe(based on other Sony regional prices) for that extra middle-finger. Also probably testing waters if they can charge more for HFW and GoW on PS5
I hope Jim Ryan fails like Don Mattrick did and we can go back to a normal PS leadership like in the PS4-era

Hot off the press: Sony purchases Nixxes (PC porting specialist). Future path is clear. There will soon be no reason whatsoever to buy a Playstation. All titles will be on PC.

ID: h3plaalJust making wild assumptions here, but I would guess 8-10 hours. Reasoning: Act 1 and 2 were about 10-15 hours a piece. Iki Island is almost the size of Act I on Tsushima Island. Here's to hoping it's at least that anyways..
