Jeopardy always has a funny amount of Sony product placement bc it’s produced by Sony Pictures
ID: h4zzc2yID: h501hreWas it?
I thought Jeopardy was owned by Sony since 1989 when they bought the company that originally made it. I don't think AT&T ever had a stake in Jeopardy, although they did have a stake in Game Show Network till 2019 when Sony took it over fully but, that's just a cable channel.
ID: h50bwh5Every Sony media thing has a lot of product placement. In The Mitchell vs the Machines the girl, I forgot her name, uses a Sony camera and a walkman. In The Social Network Zuckerberg uses Vaio, in both The Amazing Spiderman Pete is using a Vaio laptop, a Sony camera and if I'm not mistaken even a Sony Xperia. It's goddamn funny because they pit them in your face
ID: h50ljugAnd in House of Cards Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey's character) plays Killzone 3 and God of War Ascension.
ID: h515eioFun Fact: Sony's 2020 Corporate Report features the words "synergy", "synergies", or "synergistically" 22 times.
They have a little chart about how they use the creative divisions for mash-ups.
ID: h50bzouLol yeah they’re not exactly subtle about it
ID: h511f6cToday I learned...
ID: h5166e5It's why that snake Dr. Oz was a guest host, Sony also owns his show.
"Synergy".
ID: h52sfwaWasn't even aware of this!
Thanks for the info!

And Astro, Sackboy, Destruction All Stars
ID: h50u0yvWhy is the category called "Gamer's Delight"? It sounds... weird. (Not from the US by the way and not overly familiar with this gameshow besides pop culture references and the occasional reddit post).
ID: h5139llProbably a reference to Rapper's Delight, the first major recorded rap song.
ID: h512ywmDon’t worry I’m from the US and I also think it sounds weird as shit
ID: h51ero8The phrase "-blank-'s delight" is just a general phrase, at least in US English. Like the old adage "red sky at night, sailor's delight; red sky in morning, sailors take warning", for example.
ID: h50iuodThat kinda sucks. One would think it would feture gaming icons across the landscape, not just ps5 shit.
The ratchet and clack one makes sense, thats a 2 decade industry icon.
Destruction Allstars? That's just advertising
ID: h5130uaJeopardy is produced by Sony Pictures. It makes perfect sense lol.
ID: h51miumThe R&C question was cute and appreciated but they get more embarrassing as you go.
-
I can telll some of you guys don't watch Jeopardy. There's been many times where an entire category is dedicated to advertising a show. Yeah it sucks but it's nothing new.
ID: h512c3aThat's something that never bothers me. If anything, these "ads" help me get more questions right cause it's likely something more relevant to today as opposed to a an obscure category.
ID: h52iv4fI mean like the other comment said, Sony owns jeopardy so not really that weird to dedicate a category to promoting their product.
-
Yea this is just advertising dressed as questions lol
ID: h501tmtIt's probably a mix of both advertising and question, leaning more into an ad. Sony can do what they want with Jeopardy.
ID: h50cd0sFor sure, I remember an answer being Horizon Zero Dawn back when that game came out.
ID: h5134meEvery couple episodes there’s an entire category that’s blatant advertising. The funny thing is because it’s not general knowledge, people are more likely not to know the answers so it’s almost an embarrassment for the product.
ID: h51hvkrIt's actually pretty skillful the way they do it. They have enough questions that are legitimately knowledge-based to make you not notice how often they are simply advertising to us, under the guise of knowledge.
Impressive and slimy as fuck all at once.
ID: h51be1vThis is advertising dressed as an answer.

Some of the most embarassing product placement was in the first season of House of Cards.
This cold, hard killer politician of course plays God of War at home on his PS3. But one day he meets up with this senator guy, who of course has a PS Vita. Kevin Spacey has to utter some lines about it like, "Is that a PS Vita?? What Games do you have?" and the senator replies with something like, "All of them, of course!"
lol, here it is:
ID: h50nnjvI mean VITA library isn't that big, so I believe it...

Been thinking about buying Rift Apart. I played Up Your Arsenal a lot as a kid and I really liked it. Do you all think I should try Rift Apart? Multiplayer games have been so boring and stale for me lately
ID: h50r2p6100% should get Rift Apart. I have been playing with my Son, we played the 2016 version when it was free. He saw me watching a Rift Apart Review and was like "I want to play new ratchet!"
He lost his shit when we got a PS5 a couple weeks later and had Ratchet and Clank with it.
ID: h51jeeqThanks man that’s awesome that yall enjoy it together. I’ll definitely buy it today
ID: h512xx4My favorite game on PS5 so far. I really love the story and the gameplay is so much fun
ID: h50rowqThe attitude from Up Your Arsenal is unfortunately bleached away and fairly G rated in Rift Apart. However the rest of the experience is stunning and crafted. It doesn't overstay it's welcome and it's all the fun of the OG games
ID: h51jg5vThank you for your helpful info!
ID: h50ls5cYes. But have you played the other ps2 games?
ID: h51jbigNo I haven’t should I play those too
-
WOW!!!
-
First category I ever got all the questions right in
-
Really, who IS clank? Ya know?
-
Never got jeopardy. The prefix question bit to the answer just seems pointless. May as well just ask a question and get an answer.
ID: h50w15jIt’s the theme of the questions, some contestants that don’t have gamer knowledge might want to steer clear of those Qs.
ID: h50wh3zI meant the fact you have to answer with a question. It's uneccessary. Doesn't add anything to the game. May as well have just asked "who is ratchet's sidekick?"
All anyone does is add "who is" or "what is" to the start of the answer.
-
Wrong answer it’s Rivet and Bolts
-
Wow. Sucks to see ads blatantly pasted on a show as classic as Jeopardy. Fuck this.
-
Just watching this tiny clip, you KNOW this guy just ran through the entire “gamer’s delight” category
-
There are ads in jeopardy? Gross.
ID: h52hreuHaven't watched in a while, huh?
ID: h52itavWith ads like that I'll continue to not watch.
-
Isn't Jeopardy owned by SONY?
-
Can we stop posting twitter links… I AM NOT making one!
-
You don’t have to create an account to watch Twitter videos.
-
I click on the link, it tells me to sign up
-
Wow they actually got it. Usually pop culture questions are dead silence or hilariously bad answers.

What Is Clank!?
引用元:https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/oj6bc7/ratchet_clank_featured_on_jeopardy/
Yep. Jeopardy and other gameshows use to be a joint venture between Sony and ATT. Sony bought ATT's share a while ago lol.
