- Blue Box games: The Realtime Experience app will be available in Japan on august 10th along with the introduction (Opening Teaser).
-
I find it odd they had to single out Japan. I thought the release date was the same for the rest of the world.
ID: h6piodnID: h6qjh2gIsn't it odd this dutch studio keeps doing things Japan centered, like tweeting during the workday in Japan but the middle of the night in the Netherlands?
I explained this in much greater depth in a previous post if you want the actual data, but back when Hasan's trophies weren't private, we were able to look at them on PSNProfiles, which gives a time breakdown.
Over the decade of trophies he has, not only has he relatively consistently obtained the same number over a ten year period, something stupid like 40 percent of the trophies were in that time period and an extremely small number of them were obtained during times you'd expect from someone in the Netherlands.
I came more so to the conclusion he either has or had a day job and/or keeps odd hours. Like, only 1,100~ of my trophies were earned between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 1,070 trophies were earned at midnight.
ID: h6pnaxzAlso very strange Norman Reedus posted himself dancing with the Bunny Plushie from Silent Hill in a recent Instagram post...
ID: h6qrws1To be fair a professional media company would have their social folks scheduling tweets for the week/month ahead of time.
ID: h6ppn0vI think he just phrased it badly. I assume the App releases worldwide on august 10th, it will be available for preload in the US and Europe on July 29th though while in Japan the App releases on August 10th without being available for preload.
-
The pre-load worldwide is July 29th.
-
This time for reals

In Japan?

A blue box is literally a device used to fool people by redirecting from one phone line to another. The guys name literally translates to Kojima and they post during Japanese hours.
And people still think Sony is supporting some random studio lol.
ID: h6qio1gYeah. Singling out Japan here is the weirdest thing. PlayStation isn't even a Japan-centric company anymore since their leadership control moved to America. There's SOMETHING going on here, and let's be honest, it's fun to speculate. And really fuck anyone who has to be a buzzkill (unnecessarily) when we're just having fun with it. I mean come on this is one of the most interesting stories in video games in a long time, especially if it somehow ends up more deeply connected to Kojima, Konami, or a larger PS initiative.
ID: h6qpnlpPlus the 7 prominent outsourcing studios working with this indie dev that's never made a game before, and they're getting a native ps5 app to show trailers exclusively for this random indie game, which has been explained by other devs to be special treatment and not normal at all.
-
I eagerly await reading the disappointment of the people who still believe.
Does that make me a bad person?
ID: h6pbtknNah you are just as curious as anybody to see how this situation will turn out. I'm sure those who believe it is kojima are also ready to rub it in the face of the unbelievers.
ID: h6pngc6Honestly think after the last stunt Kojima pulled he or Konami learned a few things and partnered with a very small studio which has been around for alittle while but hasn't done much to add some history and legitimacy while keeping the mystery intact. With all the other oddities, who really knows but the whole thing is just strange and I'm sure we'll be left with more questions after this comes out.
ID: h6pntauYeah, you have one side having fun, and another acting like there’s no possible way that this could be silent hill, so much so that their stance is far more annoying
ID: h6qbbi5At this point I don't even care. Do I think it's a Kojima thing? Yes.
But if it's not, we might finally get some answers. I'm tired of the Blu (box) balling.
ID: h6pyco1You’re not wrong, Walter, you’re just an asshole.
-
It kind of pisses me off how secretive and dodgy this whole thing is. I wish nothing was ever said and a random post with a trailer appeared out of no where.
-
♪ Here we go agaaaaaiiinn ♫
-
God this sub is so relentlessly negative, I’m curious to see what this actually ends up being. Sony obviously see some kind of potential here
-
I'm curious how much better a trailer "rendered" in real-time is. Never cared for the Kojima stuff related to this, so I'm just excited to see if this game is worth keeping an eye on.
ID: h6pv6y5Not sure either, but I always have a tough time telling how good looking a game really is from trailers.
ID: h6qn7emYeah I think this idea is actually really cool. Watching a stream of a trailer, that even in the rare event that it’s in 4K is still inevitably going to be compressed, does not really represent what the game is going to look like.
Being able to watch it in real time on my PS5 sounds like a much better representation of the issue.
ID: h6q0iodThey also said it will take advantage of the haptic feedback, so yeah, I'm curious too
ID: h6pua66That just sounds like a gimmick. Hopefully by real-time they mean they are ending pre-rendered cgi trailers.
-
I wonder if they moved the date to August to do it together with the rumoured Sony event in the beginning of August.
It coincides with Sony's pattern of Tuesday or Thursday announcements
Edit: now that I've looked at what the app is about, this app might not be about bluebox's game but maybe an app that introduces Sony games in general.
If you look at the description, it says it will show multiple trailers of 5 to 12 minutes. Can a single game that does not seem to be close to release have "multiple" trailers?
Also BlueBox studio? A box that houses all of Playstation(blue) stuff?
ID: h6pmdk3Hasan said in a twitter reply that the app was exclusive for Abandoned trailers, and would release with just one
ID: h6ppgrcOof, oh well, I suppose that kills off my theory
ID: h6ppr8xFor a game that so far has only shown footage of standard pre made engine assets.
I don’t know what they plan to show but it’s gotta be a lot of content for a game we’ve gotten nothing on.
I still say something fishy is going on here. Either it’s actually nothing or Sony and Kojima has to delay it and figure out something else after everyone figured it out right away
ID: h6q3pjsFor a game that is supposedly coming out this year, it's odd that they would "have to" put something together out of premade assets to give an idea about their game. Almost like showing what they're actually working on would give away a secret. Hmmm....
ID: h6q6rhzThere've been so many "rumored ps events" at this point that I don't even think Sony will ever have one ever again.
ID: h6qp6m9The delays are super weird to me too. Like ok, delay the app by 2 days, then a further 3 days due to localisation. Fine maybe they just needed a little more time, but then they delay by a whole month out of nowhere.
ID: h6pn867People still have their tin foil hats on over this?
ID: h6ptq8cKind of. More so the fact Silent Hill rumors keep popping up recently. Like Norman Redus dancing with the bunny from Silent Hill 3. Rumors of Konami licensing out their IPs. None of that has anything to do with Bluebox but these rumors keep the conspiracy going.
ID: h6pqf0fHaha, just a small speculation based on the info they gave us. It's just that Sony has been holding out on us, makes me wishful for new info
-
I've thought since the very start of this app being announced the following:
1) Bluebox studios is NOT a game dev studio and aren't working on an exclusive
2) They are however a software development team
3) The app that's being built is specifically for Sony's as of yet unannounced big summer event to show what's been going on behind the scenes
4) The app will NOT ONLY contain several trailers running in real time for new games that are coming out, but also playable real time demo's of games that are coming out.
It would not surprise me if we can play a time limited demo of God of War running through the app.
I still stand by this.
Oh, and Silent Hill with Kojima is going to be the big surprise reveal right at the end of the showcase.
ID: h6pv2nhThis is one of those theories that sounds right so I'm assuming it will be completely wrong despite making more sense than whatever the truth it.
ID: h6q3jlqThis sounds - hands down - like the most plausible theory I’ve read. They had to delay to make sure all the demos were playable on day 1. It would explain so much.
ID: h6qklhnThey had to delay to make sure all the demos were playable on day 1.
This makes sense if you simplify the situation, but doesn't if you look at what actually happened.
Like, the app was said to go live, if I recall correctly, the 20th in an announcement tweet. A little bit later the app was then said to go live on the 22nd, which is the date most people remember. Hasan delayed that until the 25th or something like that and then pushed it out to August.
It being delayed for demos makes a lot more sense if there was a date, it came, the app was delayed until August because everyone wasn't ready. Incompetent indie developer makes more sense when you consider it was delayed three times, giving Keighley proof was delayed multiple times, giving The Haunting update multiple delays and more.
ID: h6q4xwkCould totally get behind this.
This sounds - hands down - like the most plausible theory I’ve read. They had to delay to make sure all the demos were playable on day 1. It would explain so much. It explains why they just had an asset loaded tech demo for their “preview,” why there’s no record of any games they’ve developed, no team on their website, etc., and why even Sony has been super moot on the whole debacle.
-
Just to make sure I understand this right. This app should deliver playable demos that we (ps users) can play and fell the features of the dualsense without actually downloading the demo, it's more like streaming. Is this what this is?
ID: h6qkwi0No. This is just basically like a real time trailer, or in otherwords a benchmark being played out lol.
-
I can’t wait to see this crash and burn as a marketing campaign. Might be the dumbest I’ve seen.
-
Kojima keeps posting new images of him editing the DS directors cut trailer as if it's the second coming of Christ. It's almost blatant that something is amidst.
As someone who loves misdirection and multiple truths, I really appreciate Blue Box, Kojima and Sony trying to swerve us.
-
Are they sure this time?
-
I don’t care anymore
-
How many times has this been delayed? I think everyone is over it now. No one cares about your stupid event Blue Box.
ID: h6pexr4Nothing says disinterested like deliberately telling everyone you're disinterested.
-
Why do we keep giving these people attention?

Isn't it odd this dutch studio keeps doing things Japan centered, like tweeting during the workday in Japan but the middle of the night in the Netherlands?
Oh well. Must just be some kind of coincidence. Definitely not more than meets the eye going on here.
