- Back 4 Blood - Open Beta Trailer
-
They need to up the amount of zombies in the “hordes”, L4D was much better in this regard.
ID: h8vquvtID: h8xiwrwIt's all right but I'm not into PvP games, so I'd only play this for the PvE and running through the same level even twice just wasn't that fun. The progression system also feels incredibly bland. I would have like more unique classes. The shop should also be different for each player and change based on your class. The bots also made the game pretty miserable. The actual gunplay is pretty enjoyable but this just feels like a $40 game to me as it stands. Obviously it's still a beta but it seems like the issues I have are mostly going to be in the main game.
-
I played 3 matches in the early-access Beta and feel absolutely no impulse to return to the game.
ID: h8ya3heDid you play with friends or alone? Playing with friends can change the experience. I honestly don't think I would play this alone.

What’s everyone feelings so far? Movement and aiming feel janky, too much aim assist. Graphics are meh &confusing card UI. I felt like every level leading up to the finale was lack luster, not many zombies and not much tension. I remember actually being overwhelmed and having some challenge with L4D hordes. Something about this game just feels like it’s a shell of what L4D was
ID: h8vtzk2A little too much aim assist I agree, being able to ‘fast click scope’ every enemy helps but feels stupid as hell to me that it’s even a thing. Other than that, I’m enjoying the game, and I’ll probably buy it on release.
ID: h8w1y5eTurn off the snap to aim on ADS in the settings. You still get a bit of aim assist without it (if you keep it on) and It feels way better. You have to scroll all the way down in the menu.
ID: h8vzctzThe aim assist is way too sticky in this game. They should do what CoD does where there’s technically aim assist but it’s very very toned down. The aim assist actually makes the game more difficult IMO and it’s even got me killed a few times lol
ID: h8w25asJust a copy and paste of my comment above, but this might help you enjoy it more:
Turn off the snap to aim on ADS in the settings. You still get a bit of aim assist without it (if you keep it on) and It feels way better. You have to scroll all the way down in the menu.
ID: h8xj483I could be wrong but they must have done the aim assist this way on console to balance playing with PC players. My brother and I played together (he on PC me on PS5) and said he had little aim assist. Overall the game was just meh. The progression (most important thing for me to keep playing a game) was just incredibly weak.
ID: h8wm8m7What difficulty you playing?
ID: h8vuw9dIf you have an okay pc or something you should get l4d2, it has both l4d1 and 2 levels, as well as some new ones just added last September, the game also gets bug fixes still and the community is still decently alive.
Edit: also idk about graphics mods but the graphics still hold up well, it's no Demon's souls but it's better than some last gen games
ID: h8wj07rI just wish you could remove attachments running around with sniper scopes on a deagle and an mp5 was stupid.
The fact you can't turn off the adatvie triggers either kind of annoyed me
But what you've said has nailed it tbh. It's janky, the aim assist is stupid and the card system don't get me started... It seems like a shell of what l4d actually was
-
It’s very meh IMO.
ID: h8wirvoIt does not feel like a 60 dollar game at all
ID: h8w48rnYeah same, the graphics are horrendous. Let early ps4. It plays on 720P for god sake
ID: h8wqj7bDoes it runs at 60fps on PS4?
-
They seriously need to turn off aiming acceleration.
-
Played for a few hours and deleted. It's just not good
-
It's fun on the harder difficulties. The easy mode is way too easy
-
honestly kinda excited for this one to come out so I can stop hearing about it at every show. It’s really not a great game, and needs far more work than it has left before release. If you can play Left 4 Dead somehow, just do that with friends.
-
Played now with a friend. In less than an hour, he bought Left4Dead2 and we were much happier playing the latter.
ID: h8w1cgjlol this was us too. never played it with friends but l4d feels so much more immersive
ID: h8wl9g3My friends and I played it last weekend on PC and we completed all the missions. It felt very meh. We then bought World War Z and it was instant in how much better it felt.
This genre has progressed way beyond L4D2 since with Payday, Vermintide etc and this doesn't even feel like a better L4D2.
The one glimpse of brilliance in this game was the ogres interactions with the environment, if you run into the tunnel near where he spawns he breaks the top of it and ducks in, if you run into a side smaller tunnel, he reaches in and grabs a player.
Where's the rest of that environmental interaction with everything else? Imagine hordes toppling over stuff, breaking down fences, breaking down walls. Same with the specials imagine all the cool environmental interactions you could have. If that game had that has it's niche it'd be great.
ID: h8x3gm9I just hate how absolutely scripted it all feels.
L4D2 everything was reactive to how you were doing in the game, here it feels nearly exactly the same each playthrough (outside of the special spawns, which are kinda busted).
The ogre always shows up at those two spots, there's never any hordes outside of the scripted events, sleepers are always in the same spots, etc. It removes all the tension because after the first playthrough you know exactly what you're gonna get each time.
ID: h8vik2wIts a couple of years since i played L4D2 but on PC the movement of the gun always felt weird a bit too slow and that fucked me up after a tried it 3-4 years ago again.
-
Move along people, nothing to see here.
-
The gunplay feels pretty decent, especially the shotgun, but thats about the most i could say about it. I absolutely hate the card system, it really brings me out of the experience. It feels like every 5 minutes im being hit over the head with "remember, this is a video game, you are playing a video game right now"
-
It's a little too slow for me, but the worst part is that I don't really understand the card system, creating decks, and creating runs. I just want to pick a campaign and start playing. I did enjoy it a bit, really glad it's coming to Game Pass, but yeah...pretty rough around the edges.
-
Been playing it, I enjoy it. Plus it having crossplay with PC, Playstation, and Xbox makes it a good time.
ID: h8xnc77Yeah I played two chapters last night. I don’t see why everyone is hating it so much.
I played a ton of L4D back in the day & this just feels like more of that, albeit a bit slower paced. Had a lot of fun with it & plan on picking it up in October.
The card system is definitely bunk tho. I still don’t really understand it but so far that hasn’t really effected my enjoyment of the game itself.
ID: h8wpmv1Eh, pc cross play with consoles is a net negative from my perspective
ID: h8wud3zWhy? There are no downsides on a co-op game. If you want to play versus then turn crossplay off.
ID: h8wq1fgCrossplay with people on pc, is great, because now I can play with more people.
-
I’ve actually been having quite a lot of fun with friends on this one. But it’s definitely not one I’ll be picking up at full price. I hope they don’t get really greedy with all the cards etc.
-
Playing this on the normal difficulty might have been the most boring experience I've ever had when playing a game with this much money put into it. The higher difficulties are more fun but even then its mediocre at best imo
-
Average at best.
-
shoot 5 zombies walk ten feet shoot 15 zombies walk ten feet shoot 10 zombies walk teen feet. ad infinitum. no "hordes", every level is the same. im good homie
-
This game really needs to be free to play. With all the free to play online games out there, Fortnite, Splitgate, rogue, valorant, Warzone etc, they need to make at least the online multiplayer free.
ID: h8wdhgoNot a chance with this studio. Hell they are selling extra campaigns and stuff in the season pass so they are one of the least “with the times” studios out there
-
meh
-
Personally didn't like it at all. Deinstalled the game after 2 hours. It is soulless. Not worth 60 or even 100 bucks. Randoms can't cooperate in this day and age of the Battle Royal. Weapons feel like pea shooters, the card system is hideous and extremely unnecessary. The always online already showed it's ugly face when disconnecting me in a game of bots, because the servers couldn't handle it.
-
Dont buy this game
-
It’s bad that I’m more excited for WWZ: Aftermath than this and also that WWZ: Aftermath won’t hit PS5 until 2022.
-
After playing this for 5-7 hours with friends. We’d rather just play LFD2
-
I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would from all the poor feedback. I actually really like the card idea, think it will really add longevity to the game. That said I wish there were more zombies in the hordes. It seems like they just throw tonnes of specials at you and it would be more intense if the regular zombies were more of a threat and the specials were rarer.
-
I tried playing yesterday but matchmaking wasn't working¯_(ツ)_/¯
-
Shit is just boring, it’s a fine game. It just plays like some circa 2000’s snooze
-
What difficulty did everyone play on?
I felt like the aiming and movement needs improvement.
The basic difficulty sucked.. way too easy.
Veteran was nice tho. Good balance of difficulty. Survival and quantity of zombies.
-
I'll check out the open beta but what I'm seeing so far doesn't grab me.
-
The beta was terrible. Doesn’t feel like a triple A game and I was let down.
-
I've been trying to play but won't let me
-
This beta sold me
on buying the much cheaper World War Z expansion next month
-
Bland environment, "hordes" of a dozen zombies, boring uncharismatic characters, the special types suck, and the current video game landscape where nobody wants to talk outside of their playstation party creates a bad experience.

Yeah I find it too easy but otherwise I I think it’s been fairly fun
