- Myst is Coming to Xbox and will support AMD FSR
-
Back when I had a Apple PowerMac 7100, this was one of the first game I bought and fully finished all by myself.
I can still hear the page flipping sound effect.
ID: h9blu0aID: h9bms2pGood old days when I would play any game fully without any help to maximize the fun out from a game. I don't have the patience to do that now.
ID: h9bzj8kIt was the game I bought a CDROM for, back when I had a Packard Bell with a Pentium 1. Took me about a month to beat it, on and off. Still one of my favorites.
ID: h9c1z2xHey, if you bought a lot of these style games, would you perhaps know a similar first person game that was kinda futuristic? Felt kind of trekky, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that.
I remember this game that some guy had, who was friends with my dad for a short while and died from a heart attack, and I only played for a few minutes wandering around. I have no idea what it was, and it's bugged me for years, especially since most of these games became obscure abandonware.
ID: h9c6dykthe good ol' years of Mac gaming
ID: h9d387aI still have my Dad’s original Myst user manual with the notes he took while trying to solve it.
ID: h9f27d1I should look for my booklet for notes, hope I have it somewhere.

Note : Comparison is wrong in videocardz article until admin fix it.

At first I was surprised when I saw Myst as one of the launching titles for FSR. I'm really interested in how this game performs. Especially since the base game is old and can run on almost anything with scummvm.
ID: h9bhm8tIt's a remake in Unreal Engine.
ID: h9blihiA remake of Myst3D, which was a remake of Myst.
There was a free Cyan game on Epic a few weeks ago - it looked good, and puzzles were easier than in the OG QuickTime game.
ID: h9bgg5jLooking at the Images, it seems to be the remake, no? In that remake, in addition to classic Scene to Scene Transition, you can move freely, too.
It's rendered in realtime 3D
ID: h9bhrw5There is already MystReal3D which is exactly what you described. This is a full remake in Unreal Engine.
ID: h9c2k11Lmao, I don't think any game that has FSR actually needs it.

Image comparison:
ID: h9cfkgoIs this comparing FSR vs native or FSR vs Bilinear upscaling? Because it looks like it's the second.
ID: h9b7539Wow, those comparisons are something. If true, this is the first time I've been impressed with FSR- in this game it looks sharper and clearer than native resolution, and I assume will run faster as well. Great job, AMD.
ID: h9bx66ain this game it looks sharper and clearer than native resolution
The screenshots compare sub-native WITH FSR again sub-native WITHOUT FSR.
They are not comparing against native here.
ID: h9bcdt0Yeah, though the native image looks extremely blurry (FXAA level of blurry)
ID: h9chgntHave to apply CAS to the original image first for it to be a valid comparison.

I can't wait for the VR version of this on Steam.
ID: h9c5cxxSo wait, it doesn't support VR at all if you play it through Game Pass?
-
Well, it's no Shadowgate, but it'll do I suppose.
ID: h9e0yoaAh, sweet memories.
-
Now we will get to see what the Borne ultimatum game should have really been about.
-
Great. I get to play this again. Already played this on the Oculus Quest
-
Not sure advertising a console game as 'supporting' (requiring) FSR is good marketing...
-
Wait, what? They remade Myst?
ID: h9bxp9pTwice now.
-
Given that the old Myst is prerendered, the developer can "remake" entire game by remaster the old pre rendered images.
ID: h9gk5dnMyst 3D is already a thing.
-
Why would you even need FSR for that game?
FPS there are pretty useless unless they have changed the game for you to walk like in a first person game.

Awww shit, here we go again.

Sweet, another platform to be bored to tears on.

kudos to you for getting out of that tunnel on Selenitic. I was able to do most of realMyst without help but that one broke me.
