- AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 "Chagall" with Zen3 architecture to feature up to 64 cores - VideoCardz.com

We knew all of this months ago from previous uncredited leaks
ID: h9f11nyID: h9f3x67Leakers knew about the Chagall code name and Threadripper pro details that couldn't be predicted from Milan though
ID: h9fyve8We knew all of this
I didn't. Thanks OP!

I don't know if I can handle the innovation /s
Seriously though, is announcing they're not adding any more cores really news?
ID: h9fdho4They're probably gonna wait till they can do 128 cores, before they increase core count.
Then a single socket server will replace a two socket server, just with dual socket licensing.
Anything else would still have the dual socket licensing costs, but wouldn't have double socket performance.
ID: h9ecx2fNot sure why you’re being down voted, but yeah it’s a bit weird to be excited for a soft upgrade. Feels almost equivalent to what Intel did with 9th to 10th to 11th gen.
ID: h9fz21mThe new chips have all kinds of new stacked designs, that is considered to be a pretty big bump in performance. What do you feel is missing?
ID: h9g1biiAccording to who? I didn't see that in the article

Is that a soft or hard "Ch"? Not sure if I want my computer to run on shag-all
ID: h9fn5w0Sha-gal? Like the artist?
ID: h9fs6mlAll the others are artist names, Matisse, Renoir, etc. This is it.
ID: h9ft5auYes, Mark Chagall. The last guy who understood color, according to Picasso.

I wonder if we'll see another 50 quid price creep for AM5 chips.
I know the answer, don't I... 🙁
ID: h9g2nllThis isn't AM5
ID: h9g62n1And? Just a question I have.
ID: h9g4vplIf you have to worry for 50 lousy quids then you are not the target segment for Threadripper. but hey there are 3600 series for the poor
ID: h9g60f0If you have to worry for 50 lousy quids then you are not the target segment for Threadripper.
Did I mention Threadripper?

I am very interested to see if they crack 5GHz SC with improved yield and top binning for TR.

We knew this months ago from Epyc Milan (Epyc 7003); and how Castle Peak (Threadripper 3000) was to Epyc Rome (7002).
It would be newsworthy if Threadripper 5000 didn't happen and/or wasn't up to 64 cores.
