Use AMD FSR to Upscale Your Own Images

Would be nice if AMD included this as part of Radeon software, I'd love to see it come in the media editor tab.

Great idea.

Isn't FSR not meant for still images? Like it compromises quality because it needs to process the image as quick as possible. In comparison to "dedicated" image upscalers which have "unlimited" time budget.

now that demo works wonders, sadly to run this locally i need to use a nvidia gpu (using a RX 580 8GB), guess i can drop in a old GT 710 or what ever that card is i have on a shelf

yeah, GAN upscalers are pretty incredible these days. nothing realtime can even come close. stuff like cupscale is also really user friendly.

Waifu2x and RealSR are my favorite ones when time is not a concern, for 2D graphics and photos respectively.

This may sound dumb but I kinda wish this had an "average" user-friendly interface so it can be done without manually using the command prompt, I'd probably use this quite a lot

Try Waifu2x-Extension-GUI. Seems user-friendly enough to me, it supports images, videos and GIFs, and it has a couple of AI upscalers to choose from.

It is also free and open source, just like all the AI upscalers it supports.

From the Github page:

Built-in super-resolution algorithms:

Waifu2x / SRMD / RealSR / Real-ESRGAN / Anime4K / ACNet

RealSR should give you the closest results to Topaz AI.

I got a few ideas:

People that don't steal. People that do video editing for hire.

Ok, this is legitimately cool.

There are better solutions (both commercial and open source) that use actual AI image reconstruction for both stills and video.

Absolutely. I have several Topaz Labs and DxO products myself. But this is still cool, if only as a proof of concept.

I can’t tell the difference on my phone. Womp womp

Or just use any image editor that supports Lanczos.

ID: h9viwuj

And get a much worse quality because Lanczos is not anywhere as good as FSR

FSR is Lanczos.
