I see GT7, I click

ID: hakxyxk

Me too, now we just need a SOP (Supermassive Omnipresent Presentation) for it

ID: halb7je

You know ball. GT is a true "system seller".

3 : Anonymous2021/08/27 15:21 ID: hakeheq

A Breathtaking event would be nice as well 🙁

ID: haki19s

Could be the start of a marketing campaign leading to the announcement.

ID: hakmt3j

Yeah, everytime they start a series of daily ads such as these it always leads to a state of play. Here's hoping it leads to a bigger event this time.

ID: haltan8

Jeff Grubb who leaked the HFW delay also spoke about a Sony event in September, so fingers crossed.

ID: hal29t2

Unpopular opinion, but I would rather have no event, than an event where only things we know are "announced" or release dates are given that are going to be delayed anyways.

People expect too much from these events, and it is incredibly hard for any studio to truly deliver. Expectations are too high. If they know they can't reach those expectations, I don't see the point.

ID: halm3fh

Yeah I agree with your point

ID: hamjnqv

Isn't this a two part problem?

Expectations are literally based on the entire history of E3, conferences, etc.

So, is this a fault of these events' planning, fan expectations, or are the current developers simply not as unique, driven and skilled?

It's hard to say expectations are too high because we aren't happy with a Saints Row CG trailer and 20 indies. I think everyone can admit, the past few years (even before Covid) of E3/GC/GA/ave been worse than virtually every year in the events history

There was a conscious and abrupt decision that broken up, Nintendo direct-like video presentations are better and I think that ruins the whole structure/pacing/incentives of these shows.

Sony used to have 3 massive events a year, now we barely have 3 in general from MS, Nintendo, Sony, Gamescom, etc...

ID: ham7kiw

Same here. Got more than enough to play in the meantime!

ID: hakqzjd

They should have plenty in reserve if they want to do a crazy event.

ID: haku069

Absolutely. GOW2, Horizon, FF16, Forspoken, GT7 alone deserve an event of their own. Man 2022 is packed!

4 : Anonymous2021/08/27 18:16 ID: hal4ufp

Sly 5 pls

5 : Anonymous2021/08/28 09:20 ID: hanw770

Still waiting for new IPs announcements.

ID: hao9u50

Lol yep waiting on those “25” new games they said they had. One year into ps5 launch and its crickets

ID: hap4rgq

Name me a console with a far better 1st year with first party games? Not saying this has been a great year. Just the normal for consoles.

6 : Anonymous2021/08/27 16:22 ID: haknolz

PS EXPERIENCE CONFIRMED.

7 : Anonymous2021/08/27 19:07 ID: halc6y7

The only limits play has, is what the devs place upon it.

ID: hamnm84

And the hardware devs have to dev on. And budget constraints. And release deadlines

ID: han9urw

Nah, I've seen devs make great games with little to work with, and then I've seen some just shit the bed, we all have. However, everything you listed always makes a world of difference, unless the company they're working for made the complete wrong move. Like Anthem ended up being, that was completely corporates fault in my opinion.

Yes, lets take a dev team that's never worked on a drop in drop out multiplayer game with a completely new engine that they've never worked on, give them shit time, and interfere with the production of the game every step of the way, changing our minds every 3 minutes. This is how games get produced all the time right? Fuck them...

8 : Anonymous2021/08/28 16:10 ID: hap2vfj

I love the focus on Hogwarts and Forspoken

9 : Anonymous2021/08/28 08:52 ID: hanud5v

PlayStation makes the most hype advertisements.

10 : Anonymous2021/08/27 20:54 ID: halrlno

Maybe I'm alone here, but I'm disappointed that we won't be getting more PS5 exclusives from Sony in the near future... I'm starting to wonder why I bought a PS5. As of right now, everything that's gonna be a PS5 exclusive that we know about and have a release date for has been released. Everything else is multiplat, muiltigenerational, or a director's re-release. Not really sure what they're doing right now.

Is this the true Abandoned Real Time Experience?

ID: hamj3ft

There must be more. They said that there are around 25 exclusives planned out for the PS5 in the future. They will start releasing those sooner or later.

ID: hanua59

They're making money that's what. There's way more people with old consoles and no one in right mind will leave them behind.

ID: hanin89

Exactly, right now ps5 is just a ps4 pro pro

All the old games in compat mode with higher res or 60fps

11 : Anonymous2021/08/27 20:24 ID: halncri

60 fps patch for Bloodborne. Yes I'm that guy.

ID: ham7dab

Wait! Bloodborne got a 60 fps ptch!?

ID: hammj0n

No, they’re saying that they want one

12 : Anonymous2021/08/27 15:28 ID: hakfhoi

Too bad the good stuff is cross-gen.

Edit: What's with the downvotes? Am I making up lies?

ID: hakmegu

I wouldn't have problem with the big games being cross-gen if they hadn't tricked us with the "we believe in generations" speech. I bought the PS5 on launch because I thought GOW2 and HFW would be new-gen exclusives. (Still happy with the console tho)

ID: haknjpc

It's just weird because developers have discussed things that couldn't be done in games like Horizon and God of War because of the PS4's rubbish hardware and here we are waiting for the sequels to be released on the same system. And you're right, Sony kept going on about the SSD and believing in generations and then we find out their big games will be held back.

ID: hakno34

The whole we believe generations quote was taken out of context and just thrown around. Immediately before that statement they mention cross-gen. The statement was more in regards to that there will be some next-gen only games + next-gen features like haptics and etc.

ID: halp7sb

You're a absolutely right. The fact that PS4 is still next to the PS5 at the end of the video tells you all you need to know. We'll see cross-gen for years. Enjoy your new SSD in your PS5 limited by the PS4's HDD.

ID: hakr492

Meh, the PS4 versions are gonna have ass resolution and PQ, even asser framerate.

ID: haktc3f

Sure the PS5 version will have a few more pixels and frames but the overall game design will be centred around the PS4. That means the game will have the same limitations and mission design as the 2018 game. That includes having long runs between point A and B so the game can load assets. We'll still have long elevator rides. Be prepared to see Kratos squeeze through tight spaces hundreds of times again. Something like Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart can't be done on PS4. It would've been cool to have boss fights in God of War that consisted of the player being teleported to different realms.

So it's more than just frame rate and resolution. Taking full advantage of the PS5's CPU and SSD would allow for better game design, physics, destruction and AI.

13 : Anonymous2021/08/27 17:11 ID: hakv7fm

Lmao breathtaking delayed games...

all we got is death-fucking-loop...

ID: ham2kc1

And it's a timed exclusive, so barely a "PS5" game.

ID: hakyanw

Delays suck, buts it’s for the betterment of the game

Don’t be disappointed, look forward to the stacked 2022

ID: haln2ir

2022 is still really hurt by Covid. Games take years to make and we are not out of the woods yet.

ID: haniwcl

Deathloop looks fucking awesome though.

ID: halbs1o

Your first line disapponited me, but the second line made up for it.

Fuck the Deathloop previews, no matter how good the game is, I am already burned out by it, bad marketing (huh! or was it all intentional?)

What game is shown during FREEDOM...?

17 : Anonymous2021/08/28 14:33 ID: haopq2c

I'm just gonna hope for some good psplus games in September, this will hold me until December..

18 : Anonymous2021/08/27 15:10 ID: hakct27

Best answer for hundreds of shitty games announced for past 2 days.

50 seconds of what should be future of games.

Not 2d artstyle, pixelart indie crap.

19 : Anonymous2021/08/27 16:12 ID: hakm84u

Look, the games shown in the video are great. But not every developer has the backing of a billion dollar corporation like Sony. Besides, some devs just go for a specific art style that they feel is best suited for their vision.

There's one thing in common among all of these devs though, they just want to make the best game they can.

20 : Anonymous2021/08/27 16:15 ID: hakmld5

Yes of coursw i get that, but why there is so hype regarding these mega game shows when there are mostly these low budget indie games ? There is more than enough indie shows even during gamescon, but during future games show ?

21 : Anonymous2021/08/27 16:00 ID: hakkgbw

Such an ignorant statement expressed with such confidence.

22 : Anonymous2021/08/27 16:11 ID: haklzym

How is this ignorant, 90 percent of new announced games on future games show were 2d art games that looks like games from SNES. How is this future games...

23 : Anonymous2021/08/27 15:20 ID: hake9qa

Okay???
