Last year, immediately following the PlayStation summer showcase, they opened pre-orders for PS5 effectively straight away. Whilst that happened, they quietly announced via Geoff Keighley’s Twitter that Horizon Forbidden West and Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales were PS4+PS5, and announced the price hike for next-gen games in an article.
Here, they’re opening pre-orders for Horizon Forbidden West, and announcing a lack of an upgrade path between PS4 and PS5, on the same day as the showcase announcement, knowing that more people would talk about the announcement and be hyped enough for it that, if they did hear the upgrade announcement, they wouldn’t care.

Wait, does standard edition have photo mode because it says "unlocks" only in Deluxe, is it like early unlock or will standard edition dont have it?

Why would anyone in their right mind pre-order digital so far in advance/at all?
In cases where you want pre-order exclusive stuff, do it the day(s) before it releases, after people have reviewed it etc. Still get the stuff. They aren't going to run out.
Physical, fair enough, but even then... not this far in advance.
Also locking photomode filters behind certain version, fuck off.

This is weird, pre-order is up on PlayStation Store Canada, but there are no pre-orders up for it online elsewhere (physical).

Off topic, but I've read that the first game gets alot better after a while, that there's a very long "intro" before it kicks off. When exactly does it kick off? I got out of the first tribe area after the attack of that big mechosaurus and did some quests outside of there, but I was so bored that I quit an hour or two after. Does it get better? Worth another go?
