The casting and costumes for this movie seems so all over the place. It just bothers me that it seems like they almost went out of their way to choose actors/costumes that don’t match with iconic characters.
It’s like making a Zelda movie and casting Link as a brunette wearing a suit of armor.

ID: hc85vfvI feel like marvel and DC movies have proved that people won’t be turned off by more accurate outfits from video games to movies. There’s so many zombie shows and movies that range from grounded to outlandish. Resident evil stands out a bit because of its sci-fi elements, mutant enemies, and cartoonish villains, I don’t see why Jill with a beret and shoulder pads and Wesker in sunglasses at night would turn people off at all.

People complained about Leon and Claire, but Jill is WAAAAAAAAAAAY worse than them.

Chris - Absolutely good, looks just like RE1 Chris, no real complaints.
Claire - I believe the only fix needed is just her hair. Give her a ponytail and done.
Leon - The hairstyle doesn't bother me but, the hair color absolutely does. Instead of having him have brown hair like in RE2 or give him a more blonde appearance later down the line, it's just black. It looks wrong. It looks like Carlos or Luis, not Leon.
Jill - I still don't see Jill at all. So much wrong with it. So much wrong really, it reminds me more of Rain Ocampo from the first RE movie.

My idea is that some people (directors, writers, whoever) want to put a spin on things to call them they're own.
Its beyond idiotic to take one idea that works, change a few things and ruin it because you want to be able to say "yes i did make that".
Thats my two cents since this isnt hard to do, just got too many people wanting to be steven spielberg

Honestly, I'm genuinely surprised that Claire wasnt the one to be played by a black actress considering, in the last few years anyway, traditionally red haired characters are portrayed as POC.

I can’t believe people are defending this movie. The RE1 shots with the exception of Chris nobody even resembles their characters they just look like commandos and the Leon and Claire stills look like cheap cosplay in a student film. At least the Paul Anderson movie series knew it was garbage and leaned into it.

I still think the re3 remake is the best version of her. She looks the best and her personality is perfect. Confident yet not coming off as arrogant. And she shouts and swears just like you’d expect someone to if they were stuck in that situation.
Also her cheesy jokes go well with her personality and are a great reference to the original cheesy script.
