When i first played the original RE a few years back Me an My friends were joking that ECG text kinda looked like Egg. So we were constantly Checking the Egg Meter.

I love the ECG and I am glad that it returned, I was never a fan of the switch to an always on-screen health bar that displays your exact amount of health and your characters name like Metal Gear Solid. I prefer the ECG because it is only visible in the inventory menu and it is kinda vague, so you never know the exact amount of health you have left. This added a bit of uncertainty, and it had a real influence on when you took risks and when you decided to use healing items. You really had to pay more attention and keep track of your characters status. It could say you are fine but you might still be very close to caution.

Maybe someday they’ll actually start showing a sinus rhythm for the characters. I guess the RE 3 Remake is the closest to normal though
