I remember my brother watching me play Bloodborne and talking about how easy it looked. He couldn't get to the first ladder without dying or kill the first enemy and now says it's a terrible game because it's to hard.

Tried playing blood borne because it looked so cool. Broke 2 controllers on that first wolf boss at the bridge and never played again

On my first playthrough now. I've kinds realized the trick to not letting bosses frustrate you is going into the fight not looking to win, but to memorize the boss's moves and attacks, how to approach them, etc. Just trying to live as long as possible with getting a few hits here and there, and when I die, I've learned a lot about that boss. It only takes a few of these learning experiences before I'm able to avoid most of their attacks and then I school those fuckers and dice em up.

Lol.

That's exactly what my brother did! The only probable difference is that he is 20 years older than me! (I'm 22 and he's 42)

Beat dark souls 1 after everybody telling me how hard and good it was. It's not and it's not.

Cool.

This isn't even difference in opinion anymore. This either a middle schooler's stupidity or attention begging at it's lowest.

You let your little cousin touch darksouls and your console/pc... you're brave. I've seen frustrated little kids and they tend to be worse than adults for breaking stuff when mad. Although it is the best game to crush the childs spirit early.

ID: hg0stdl

Just crush his windpipe

ID: hg10xqi

I've read an idea once, that the game is actually about overcoming obstacles and getting better... it's not meant to crush spirit, quite the opposite

but yeah, it has got the notorious reputation now... 🙂

Depends on how well one tolerates having to play through the same section of game over and over again, and having to do it with less health (in the case of DS2).

I'd be thrilled if my younger relatives were interested in my games. They all just play Fortnite all day.

I played ds3 for about 4-5 hours, never did beet the first boss that introduces you to the game, I feel sorry for the kid 😛

ID: hg18sct

Dark Souls 3 has the hardest first boss of any Souls game imo, you should check out the first Dark Souls sometime. I assure you you'll beat the Asylum Demon in less than 4 hours, lol.

Git Gud or Git Rekt Scrub

Anyone have a good guide for getting Dark Souls: Remastered to work with an Xbox one controller on Steam? I've tried several things, but it's still stuck with mouse and keyboard. I mean, I love mouse and keyboard for FPS games, but something tells me it's probably not ideal for Dark Souls.

ID: hg173qi

I've never had issues playing with my Xbox controller. Plug and play.

ID: hg1b8hp

That's weird, if you're running Windows your pc should typically just recognize an Xbox One controller. Tell us what you've tried already so we know what to rule out.

I'd recommend: Verifying the installed game files through Steam. Updating your USB and Microsoft drivers. Connecting your controller to your pc through a different USB slot. Turning off Steam's controller settings by going to Steam>Settings>Controller>General Controller Settings and unchecking everything there except 'Guide Button Focuses Steam', you could also try Configuring your controllers here. Opting into the Steam Update Beta through Steam>Settings>Account>Beta Participation. Disabling/enabling your HID Game Controller Device under Device Manager. Closing Dark Souls and Steam, disconnecting and reconnecting the controller, launching Steam as an Admin, and then trying to play the game. Restarting frequently as you systematically make changes to see what works will help make sure the changes took effect properly.

It works just fine? Are you playing over a steam link or with proton?

An official Xbox One controller will work on a windows PC right out of the box.

My guess is you either have a 3rd party controller or you have some weird issue with the game specifically, in which case I’d try verifying the files.

13 : Anonymous2021/10/09 22:34 ID: hg19q0y

they love it and ask to play it more

14 : Anonymous2021/10/09 21:07 ID: hg0yeze

That only showcases the TERRIBLE game design. It banked on having all those "gamers" with below underground self-stem (aka, sony fans)

ID: hg104z8

What the fuck are you even trying to say?

ID: hg12rvu

Dark souls never made me angry because if you die than you made a mistake. Unlike life and every other game where you can make no mistakes and still fail. Edit: except bed of chaos because fuck that shit.

ID: hg1bddi

That's what makes the game feel so well designed. Whenever I die, I can only blame myself. The game is punishing, but in a fair way.
