Oh man I’d kill to play this game again for the first time. Just remember whatever build you make you typically have options to use it in quest dialogue. I think you’ll be amazed all the different choices you can make in quests. Enjoy!

ID: hgiuiecI can't speak to it being the best, it's literally the first Fallout game I've played. It's fun, but yes. The corrupted saves is a very common problem and a huge nuisance. I put it down and am hesitant to go back just because of the pain it takes to get back to my save.

ID: hgial6uNo mods. Just vanilla. I'm playing PC and from a quick Google search it seems to be a really common problem. It's largely just become a nuisance now as apparently starting a new game and then loading a previous save will recover the corrupted file, but that still requires me going through the whole intro character creation process which sucks.

ID: hgizg9uRecently had a 30 hour playthrough with no mods installed. Crashed only 3 times.
Steam Version on Win 10. No DLC besides Gun Runners Arsenal installed.

I am going to get shit on. And that’s ok. I don’t understand why everyone loves this one? I thought fallout 3 had a better story. They both had all kinds of crazy bugs and problems. But NV for me on multiple times had people fall through the map preventing me from completing quests. Eventually after X amount of restarts I got through it and was just happy it didn’t prevent me from finishing. I just felt like 3 was a better game because of the story, and New Vegas was the lesser game for the story. EVERYONE LOVES NV. Just kinda weird to me.

ID: hghlstaWhy the ultimate edition? I have the base game and have played a bit of it a few times but never stuck with it. It looks like the dlc is all on sale right now, is there any that are better than others or should I grab them all?
edit: Is there specific mods that are a definite? I've tried playing it recently and it feels outdated, is there any remaster type mods out there that are a standard go-to?
ID: hghns69It has all of the dlc and they’re all fun. I’m not sure about the mods I’d mainly try beefing up the visual quality and adding content.

ID: hgion6zIf you mean overhaul mods that bring the design up to more modern standards, I think Project Nevada is the most popular. I can't really say if it hits the mark.
There's also a current version of the JSawyer mod, which is kind of a director's cut of the game but doesn't do too much to the 2010 era gameplay.
I can't recommend NVAC enough. Unmodded the game just crashes constantly.

This is by far my favorite game of all time. If you end up liking it I suggest you keep na eye on Avowed. It will be a fantasy RPG created and developed by Obsidian the studio responsible for this game.

It's a good game, not even remotely close to as good as people claim it is. But certainly worth playing.
ID: hgibl61the mechanics of new vegas are kinda bad. like, enemies move WAY too fast to be able to shoot them without vats. Fallout 4 did a good job of fixing this. Fallout 4 mechanics with New Vegas story and world would be perfect
ID: hgie96eI almost never used VATS in New Vegas, with a good sniper build enemies were ridiculously easy to kill most of the time when shooting in real time.

Lol id sit down and play half the games i played as a kid on ps1-3 and x box with no hesitation for the first time again vs half the amazing graphics and 12,000 gig update bs no story ,dlc driven , online only sorry ass fucking crap we have to pay for today! Ill take way more effort in a game with low graphics and amazing story oh and COMES COMPLETE (no dlc) over a game the clearly made 100% then broken up to about 70% and the other 30% is “dlc” you have to pay another 20-30$ each for.
ID: hgin6irI agree. A little over a year ago I played Morrowind for the first time and loved it. No nostalgia influencing my enjoyment. A fun game is a fun game.

Great game was the first one I actually played! (Tried fallout 3 and didnt get in to it)
ID: hgitqiyNew Vegas is what made me say I was a fallout fan. Then I was disappointed in 4 and 3 is really a one time playthrough. While I have not played the originals, New Vegas is the only fallout I enjoyed.

Omg save often and for no reason at all! I wish i lived this rule the first time playing fallout but because of this game i save so often when playing any game
