ID: hiag4nkGood damn you made my day man. Thank you.
ID: hib1auxHe looks great, sadly
ID: hib2nm7I’m hoping they include him as a secret boss as a joke

The difference texture makes. It's clearly the exact same model, just they've applied a more gritty/realistic texture to it as opposed to the more matte/stylised look of the first one.
ID: hibtfe0Also light. The top one looks like it has flatter, more diffused light on it.
ID: hichdiuDitto for the lighting. They bumped up the contrast and specular highlights. Small change, but a big difference.
That said, I kind of liked the original lighting and texture styles. CE had a similar art style.

That thumb looks dope too.
ID: hiadh8zDefinitely a runner up for “best thumbs in a video game” at the next game awards.
ID: hiaxesyPfft that's a horrible thumb. Have you seen the last two cods? Those are the best thumbs as of recent years.
ID: hian2c6I wish it was in my ass
ID: hiangq4maybe I can solve your problem?
ID: hiazc94It's amazing! It's such a tease though... Now I can't wait for the full hand reveal!
-
Just want to point out, the geometry is unchanged. The only differences in these images are the lighting and the textures (possibly post processing as well, but that’s harder to tell from a zoomed in still). Major kudos to the environmental and 2D artists for pulling this together!
-
What a glow up. Modern games are incredibly beautiful
ID: hiagfc4If you aimed at either grass or sky, I hope you keep an empty clip too!
ID: hibmxp3I'm so confused about what you mean and i want to understand the joke
ID: hiam07kis it really a glow up?
i think its just a change in style. one is a clean, more symbolic style and the other is rougher and has a realistic style, but theyre largely the same quality.
-
Hope they offer the top one as a skin, love me a clean gun
ID: hiatjhpI prefer the display on the top one.
-
2020 looks cleaner but 2021 looks more detailed and realistic
ID: hibal49The power of textures and proper lighting. Both of which is the gameplay trailer lacked.
-
Something that blew my mind in (I think?) Halo CE, you could drop the assault rifle on one side of the map and scope in with your sniper from the other side and you could see the ammo number. And it was accurate to what you left in the clip
-
Did they seriously think they were gonna be ready by the time the series x released lmao
ID: hiak95wI'm mean some unbelievable shit happened the past couple years I can't blame them
ID: hibe8ktJust wait until you hear about halo 2!
-
All in all, great looking gun. I just wanna know how the scope attachment works, and how it knows how many rounds are in the mag. You can see it perched on the rail.
Would honestly love to see a survival game based in the Halo universe. Or maybe an MMO where you can see the factions duking it out, while you work the other parts of the world. Maybe play as an ODST or something
ID: hiaeum2I'm pretty sure the scope is linked to the user's helmet, so you see where the rifle is aimed in your HUD. That's why the Magnum has a zoom with no actual scope as well, and why all Halo games are mostly "hip fire." Iron sights are a thing though, just not really shown since Spartans have like the best helmet tech possible lmao. Mag capacity thing exists IRL though I don't know how it works, probably holes in the back of the mag that a sensor reads to see the number left or something
ID: hia7pjsTheir are irl attachments that’s tell you how many rounds are left for certain guns
ID: hiaqcztInternal computer that tracks rounds either by the weight of the magazine or by how many rounds have been fired.
-
Remember the good ol assault rifle that had 60 rounds?
-
I mean the top one looks real, in fact it looks like increadibly realistic plastic...
ID: hibajy8it was one of the main complain about it, that it looked like a toy.

I'm hoping the flack devs are catching on showing early footage stops them announcing shit years before a release date. If it's going to take more than a year, don't announce it until it won't.
ID: hiafa56But didn't they delay the game BECAUSE of the flack they got? I thought that it was supposed to come out sooner but because of the bad reception they got from the reveal trailer they postponed the game to work on it more.
ID: hiau3paYeah I don't get this.... showing off how it looks earlier is a super positive thing that can give insanely early feedback before it's too late.
I prefer it, we get to see announcements early, we get a better game, win win.
ID: hiaidq6It just means they won't get any feedback so the stuff they would get flak for in the early versions will remain unchanged and instead be stuff they get flak for in the full release
ID: hiawgdyThat's not really what happened here, though. They had a release date, but it clearly wasn't ready, and got pushed back.
When they shown the gameplay, they were fully intending to release it that year.

You don't need to fire your gun if you bash them in the back of the head for an easy 1-tap.
