If this is true, I don't know what's worse... the fact that kids didn't recognize the Playstation symbols, or the fact that Squid Game, an adult show, is more recognizable to them...

ID: hiwj73gI think part of that is because it became an insanely popular internet sensation. Even without watching the show, there are tons of references on YouTube, TikTok, Roblox game modes that kids can watch and pickup on.
There are a lot of violent/horror topics that kids may not have first-hand experience consuming, but are aware of them due to references through other outlets.

ID: hiw6f6vKids arn’t watching the show, they are learning about it through media. It is similar to knowing who spiderman is, or hearing about hogwarts. Word spreads and if their parents watch it they probably thought “cool pink suits!”

Squid game is hugely popular leading up to this spooky season, involves lots of bloody death and is a popular costume even. Really not a huge stretch.
