- Remember that first time you saw a giant, went up to him, attacked him for no reason... and then he proceeded to homerun with you? Good times.

First time I saw a giant I thought they were friendly because in the original Skyrim trailer you see them walk by close to the player and don't attack. So when I approached them in game, you can guess how it actually went.
ID: hjz2aiyID: hjybl24Actually they can be non-hostile, but only if you stumble across them walking along a road like to pick up the cow from the one dude, and so long as you have no weapons drawn and keep no weapons drawn.
Tl;dr you probably walked right up in their home and/or had weapons pulled out, their mammoth blood on your blade so of course they gonna be violent, I would be too if you interrupted my dinner like that
ID: hjznsgqIsn’t “tldr” supposed to be a shortened version of what you said?

First time i saw a giant i was like 'i wonder what this is all about' so i headed over to see if he was an NPC.
'ground control from major Tom in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... '
ID: hjy4ah8"Excuse me, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior projectile motion and his son terminal velocity?"
ID: hjywksdI completely avoided them the rest of the game.
ID: hjyoffrMajor tom… i get that reference!
ID: hjzmqceIsn’t “to” and not “from” tho

It was so unexpected, I found the giant again to see if it was a glitch or not lol
ID: hjyuaj2It was originally a glitch but I read that the devs thought it was so hilarious they left it in
ID: hjzplzzIt's a "feature"
-
Wish i could forget skyrim and then hsve the joy of exploring it again ... and i'm in Blackreach, son of a bi...
ID: hjz8gerFunny how almost every random bear cave has got some sort of way to get to Blackreach
ID: hjzrlx7I didn't know that.... Time for some exploring!!!
-
Reminds me of the time I was watching my older brother play when we were little (he was about 12 at the time) My moms boyfriend told him to go give the big caveman a hug and boy was he in for surprise when the caveman didn't want any hugs.
-
You won't believe but after the first time that happened I got some kind of phobia when ever I encounter a giant my heartbeat rises pretty much. It's a little weird.
ID: hjyq5vdThis happened to me with the sharks in AC black flag. Did the first diving mission, didn't think there would be anything more dangerous than running out of breath.
When I first had to hide in the seaweed from the patrolling sharks, I starting freaking out. Tried to push through and made a break for the diving bell and the sharks started chasing me.
I started screaming and almost fell off my chair. The moment before the sharks got me has got to be one of my worst gaming memories. I put the game down and still haven't picked it back up.
ID: hjzipruUnderwater creatures in videogames is a real fear of mine. I just nope the fuck out. I'll literally skip out on games that have them or get a friend to help me out.

Knocked out of the stratosphere.
-
I got knocked into the air like this my first time. And then eventually I was able to raise them from the dead and it was awesome.
-
I remember thinking "oh cool, I wonder what that guy's about? I'm going to talk to him!"
-
My first time playing Skyrim was on a friends xbox, I was having a grand old time... until the first dragon appeared. The game auto saved right before so every time I revived I would have to either face him or avoid that area. 2 hours of dying later my buddy comes home and sees this going down. He said the dragon should not be that tough to take down. I had resorted to having the dragon follow me and get into a fight with a mammoth and a giant. After it killed them I would try to finish it off... and died still. He then checked the difficulty setting, it was on Master.
-
Can't believe that was 10 years ago in 2 days.
-
It wasn’t for no reason, my asshole friend who brought the game over for me to try told me “go fight those guys, trust me they’re weaker than they look” and I trusted the fucker.
Good guy still talk to him occasionally
-
Or in New Vegas when you decided to go your own way from the start of the game and then run into an overleveled Death Claw
-
Great way to level up at the beginning though. Go up to giant with a shield, block his attack. Your within an inch of your life and about to be launched into space on the next hit. Immediately run and hide behind a rock to heal. Go back, let him bash you again. Rinse and repeat. You’ll get about 10 level ups in 5 mins just blocking that powerful bash.
-
Still my favourite bug from Skyrim.
ID: hjy4ogxBug? What are you talking about?
ID: hjy5jyoGiants weren't actually supposed to launch you in to the stratosphere when they club you.
-
Yeah I remember. It was in VR and I literally blacked out in real life.
-
And then you reload and slowly wear him down from range for 15 minutes while abusing pathing.
-
I had yet to save during my playthrough and had to start from the beginning.
-
I never got hit by one, but a group of bandits did so I got to see it from a safe distance. Best bug ever!
-
I completely avoided them the rest of the game.
ID: hjzb3lxBy the time you’re level 35 or so they’re not that dangerous.
-
I still need to try this in VR..
ID: hjz8nqzThe bow and arrow is satisfyingly spammable
-
First time I played this my brother was watching and said “don’t go near him he’ll destroy you” and I said PFT yeah sure ok and then proceeded to get destroyed
-
I thought it was a glitch the first time it happened.

Skyrim space travel
-
First time I saw giants I approached them, then they screamed and started walking towards me and I said f that I'm out
-
I wish they clubbed sideways and sent you flying that way. It'd be so much more satisfying to me if instead of you launching straight up, their homerun swing sends you hurdling sideways
ID: hjzdx4kAgreed. Just land and skid right through the entire town of Riften.
-
Good times.
-
Yeah it gets posted all the time
-
Haha yes, thinking I'm hard as balls but the giant shows me how to fly.
-
Reminds me of Dragon Age Inquisition when you see a Giant and a dragon fighting. I'm like: "Hey let's go check that out!"
-
Thank you for making Tom Petty play in my mind.

They’re friendly if you don’t get close to their mammoths, they usually leave you alone
