It isn't a speedrun tactic but a necessity, you can kite Imoen in Baldur's Gate 1 and never speak to her at all.

In deus ex you could skip a talk scene by planting a proxy mine by the door they entered from and it would stop them from initiating the conversation

First one! I think the guy was trying to do a pacifist run (yes, there were no achievements at the time, the community just loved the challenge) and the conversation causes it to start combat, so the proxy skipped the combat, but would also save time for conversation since it skipped the dialogue too.

Definitely me using tcl to noclip away from Vulpes after you exit the Tops for the first time after dealing with Benny.
When he interacts with you, you get the mark of Caesar and your Legion rep is reset. Avoid him long enough and you can reset your Legion rep after doing a bunch of NCR quests. This should stop hit-squads from bothering you for a large portion of the game
