- Best DLCs ever in gaming.
-
I find the term DLC developed a super bad reputation... I liked it more when we called it Expansion Pack, also Hearts and Stones was good, too.
They said it is 10 Hours long and it was 10 Hours long.
ID: hoew8xrID: hof44nhAssault on Dragon's Keep hit hard, especially when you start putting two and two together.
ID: hof2s7fUndead Nightmare was amazing. Completely changed the way the game played too. Made it soooooo much better
ID: hoezxeaI liked Hearts of Stone a lot better. Sure it added less items and didn't add a whole new region, but just Gaunter O'Dimm made it worth it. Never have I seen such a terrifying and well written villian.
ID: hof3v9aIt's like a refreshing break after finishing the main game and before you start B&W which might as well be Witcher 3.5. Totally different tone and feel, and much more linear
-
Shivering isles was hands down the best part of oblivion.
ID: hoevyf8Yeah that is easily one of gaming's best DLCs. How well they showed Mania/Despair manifested into a living world was amazing.
ID: hoev9buOmg please no, youll me make install it again
-
Missed oblivions shivering isles, best dlc in all of gaming. Basically added a whole new game to the game
ID: hoef4m1A whole new and much better game. The writing in Shivering Isles was so much better than almost all of Oblivion.
ID: hoepas9Absolutely! None of Bethesda Games Studio's following DLCs have topped Shivering Isles.
-
Should I replay bloodborne for the dlc?
ID: hoei14qYes definitely, the DLC is the best part of the game
ID: hoehy1pThe dlc is amazing. It has some very tough bossfights, cool new weapons and a bunch of new locations.
ID: hoejms9Ah, man, fucking Orphan of Kos. Seeing that "Nightmare Slain" is probably one of the high points of my life.
ID: hoeohf5It’s quite a bit more difficult than the base game. If you beat the game already, the DLC will be in new game plus as well which is even harder. You’ll most likely need a new play through with a fresh character
ID: hoeqdnmYou should and you will. You will. You will. You will. You will. You will. You will. You will buy and play the dlc yes you will.
-
Ringed city too, and also godmaster dlc from hollow knight (tho all 4 dlcs were free so, eh)
-
Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den
-
Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault is a DLC that has you playing Dungeons and Dragons, sorry Bunkers and Badasses, in a first person shooter. It was so widely loved that they are releasing a full stand alone game coming out next March of just Bunker and Badasses, they also released a table top RPG to go with it.
ID: hoervnkA large part of why Tiny Tina's Assault was so well received is that it has a genuinely good story around Tina not knowing how to cope with Roland's death.
ID: hoet8csYeah, that was pretty messed up. That and what they did to bloodwing. She was a good girl.
ID: hoeu72pCame looking for this one, it is to this day the best DLC for any game I have ever played, hands down, no contest.
-
Blood and wine was amazing, felt like a whole new game
ID: hoeaq00Really? I have been considering getting The Witcher again just for the expansions. And gwent. One of the best DLCs I have played was Horizon Zero Dawn's Frozen Wilds. It was like a whole new game, Witcher is on that type? I'll have to check it out.
ID: hoefjjxYeah when I first played Witcher I was blown away but the blood and wine dlc specifically is like an entire new game they even added an entire new open world map and story just for the dlc
ID: hoeb9tbIt truly is, hearts of stone was good as far as dlcs go, but blood and wine was truly an amazing experience. It took me about 20 hours to beat, but it could take longer if you wanted to.
-
Also the citadel dlc from mass effect 3
ID: hoefvntLayer of the Shadow Broker
-
Elder Scrolls 4 would like a word.
The Shivering Isles is by far the best DLC/expansion ever created imo
-
Shivering Isles as well.
-
Some of my favorite DLCs:
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam
Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Shivering Isles
The most recent DLC I’ve played and enjoyed was Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: The Fate of Atlantis
ID: hoeshpyBattlefield 3 Aftermath and Return to Karkand were amazing too
-
You forgot:
-Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
-Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues
-Dying Light: The Following
-Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's assault on Dragon's keep
ID: hoer9g1Mostly all Fallout New Vegas DLCs are great but Lonesome Road it's my favorite.
-
Dishonored 1 had really good DLC.
FNV has great DLC.
Dragon Age: Origins has really good DLC.
-
Borderlands 1 - General Knoxx (Dr. Ned honorable mention)
Borderlands 2 - Tiny Tina Assault on Dragon Keep
Witcher 3 - Blood and Wine
Bioshock Infinite - Burial at Sea
MH World - Iceborne
Oblivion - Shivering Isles
These ones have stood out to me over the years as “game changers” and are ones that I’ve remembered well.
-
Bioshock Infinite had some nice dlc which really changed how you saw the main story.
-
What about Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction?
-
Dragon Age Origins: Awakening
ID: hoevar9Trespasser for Inquisition was amazing as well.
Though some people criticize it for being the ending the vanilla game should have had. Maybe rightfully so.
-
Dark Souls - Artorias of the Abyss deserves a mention.
-
Bro what about Iceborne ;__;
-
Back when DLCs were called expansion packs Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne was god tier. Starcraft Brood War was also fantastic. Then the downloaded FREE custom games were the extra icing on the cake. Wait until you hear about the little DLC called DoTA.
-
Fishing Hamlet is so awesome. Not to mention the horrifying Orphan of Kos.
-
Where's Minerva's Den, Half life Opposing force and Fallout New Vegas dlc's?
-
I would also add The Following DLC for dying light.
-
Get the Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye on this list now!
-
Road to Gehenna DLC for The Talos Principle should be on this list

God tier DLC. Heck, Undead nightmare was a game in its own right.
I do think you're on to something. We need expansion packs back. 10-15 hours of more of the thing we loved. Maybe a new gimmick to mix it up a bit. Keep your shitty horse armor and Tacti-cool Santa skins.
"Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep" should be here as well.
