The aesthetic and combat in Sekiro is fantastic, but the game is too goddamn hard for mainstream appeal. Crushing difficulty should not be what games should strive to offer. It's offputting and fun to a relatively low number of gamers when compared to the whole.

Arigami 2 is a spiritual successor though I couldn’t get past the tutorial.

Shadow tactics: blades of the shogun stretched the itch a little bit better for me.

That’s funny because playing Aragami 1, I kept thinking that a sequel would probably be the Tenchu successor I’ve been waiting for. Then the reviews were terrible and it ended up on my 50% or more sale list.

I’d even take the Xbox Tenchu on BC at this point.
