Well Maggie Robertson (voice and mocap actor for Lady Dimitrescu) won an award. That’s something.
ID: hpbtu7uID: hpc5u3xYeah the castle was great. Vampire chicks was a bit of a letdown (you killed them all in like half an hour), but the aesthetics where cool
ID: hpch2p6Marketing her so damn much was both a mistake and a smart move.
ID: hpcu1coI was stoned out of my mind during that first confrontation in the basement. I didn’t realize it wasn’t a cutscene and freaked out when I realized it was real. then she cut my hand off. It was the most fun I had all year.
ID: hpc3on2I simped for Heisenberg way harder. Dude had way more charisma and his goals actually made sense. I thought there was gonna be a section where we controlled him using Gravity Gun physics when he first proposed his plan to Ethan.
Lady D legit was just "Vampy Mommy Booba" and nothing more.ID: hpc59sbMaggie's performance as Lady D and Neil Newbon's Heisenberg were among my favorite parts of the game.
ID: hpd06f2That's all I wanted

RE did not walk away empty handed last week the franchise got 2 awards, best performance and best VR title for RE4 VR.
ID: hpd1dkqThe best performance was pretty deserved, even if I did like the performance of Heisenberg Better. But the re-release of a great game for VR where a lot of content was cut to be more safe? I'm all for progressiveness but as far as I remember Leon wasn't being racist or homophobic. I feel that's a really weird choice and shouldn't've been there, like the rest of the re-releases with a tiny bit more content.
ID: hpepxppThat's facebook for you

Psychonauts 2 still got snubbed the worst. Nominated in 5 categories and didn't win shit. Tim Schafer wore his fancy bright colored suit for nothing lol
ID: hpe0f3bI think Psychonauts 2 deserved at least something for its art/creativity, but tbh I didn't enjoy my time with it, which sucks because I loved the first one. I haven't even completed it (I think I'm in the drunk guy's head, still). It just felt like the first one, but somehow yawn-ified.
ID: hpe22omRespectfully disagree. I enjoyed the first one a lot but I think the new one is better, personally. Did you get to the Psi King level yet? That section alone deserved best art direction, let alone the rest of the game which was equally superb visually.

Who the fuck cares about the Game Awards, like cmon.
No Straight Roads (a game about music with the best music in a game since Jet Set Radio Future) wasnt even mentioned.ID: hpcbjxwSo true. TGA starts to feel like Oscars. Just a sad circlejerk. Remember when Geoff said that this year's TGA will have 5 announcements on the level of Elden Ring surprise announcement? And what did we get? Not much...
ID: hpcbl8iHello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note:
“The beings who possess these souls have outlived their usefulness, or chosen the path of the wicked. Let there be no guilt—let there be no vacillation.” - Kingseeker Frampt
Have a good one and praise the sun [T]/
ID: hpdy11nYour first mistake was buying in to Geoff Keighly's hype.
ID: hpd014yLol yet if it won awards I’m sure no one would care and celebrate it /s

No one trashes re games more than re fans.
ID: hpbttq0They're natural enemies, like RE fans and other RE fans!
ID: hpby45dDamn RE fans. They ruined RE!
ID: hpcbywjI've heard this in communities of almost any game that it makes me wonder if there is a game where its community isn't super toxic?
ID: hpcdy6lIt depends on if a franchise has changed significantly over time. That alone causes animosity.
ID: hpd9emfMetroid, Binding of Isaac, and Divinity Original Sin 2 are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Laughs in Lost Judgement
-
Doom had a great soundtrack though...
-
Lady D won best performance. That is all I needed. Village was a great game. But if it had more dev time to expand on the lore. More sections of the village, castle, reservior. Expansion of the NPC's...it could have been an epic entry into the series like RE4. Instead it was just a good game. They knocked it out of the park with the villians and setting.
-
Treat it like the Oscars and skip it.
-
just like in film, horror always get slept on!
-
Well it's TGA - the goeff awards. It's a common misconception but it's actually not about games. It's about money and ads, like Oscars.
-
As others said Maggie Robertson won an award for her performance as Lady D, tho whilst Village was a good game I don't think it REALLY excelled at anything in particular, so with some tough competition I'm not too surprised
ID: hpcay3wYeah, this game might have clinched best action/adventure if Metroid Dread didn't exist.
ID: hpcg9wjTough competition for sure
-
Award shows have always been bullshit
-
Lady Dimitrescu won best performance
-
Are you trying to say that Deathloop didn’t deserve a million awards for being average?
ID: hpe5qfrI hate that Deathloop won best Art Direction, nothing about it stood out, Psychonauts 2 and Kena were both right there.
-
I mean the game was good but not great and the best thing about RE8 actually did win an award so…
-
Lycans on VOS should have won the award for the biggest bullet sponges of this year. Chris’ section was cool and all, but I feel as if the guy punching boulders in half should easily sweep the floor with little wannabe level 1 AI.
-
The re8 voice actress in the tig op biddies dress got an award for her performance in game.
-
To be clear, I pre-ordered RE Village, platinumed it and voted for it in TGA's GOTY category.
However, there's a silver lining to this defeat: Capcom won't think they "hit gold" with the game. Personally, there are two things about it that I didn't like that much: areas being uneven (surprise factor in exchange for characte
development) and the fact they toned the horror down - the latter was extremely unnecessary and felt like "anti-RE".So yeah, I won't lose sleep over RE Village's defeat but I am hopeful the next games will be as good if not better.
-
Didn’t think it was good enough for an award.
-
I mean, 8 is a fine game but besides Lady D (which did get an award) it wasn't anything too special. Unlike 7 which really pushed the new engine and direction at the time. 8 was kinda more of the same from the remakes and 7. It's definitely good but I do hope they try some new things for 9, in terms of story flow. If it ends at a lab or some sort of lab, I'll scream.
ID: hpdulfxI mean the plot with the BSAA seems to be the focal point of the next game and it's the culmination of the journey so far with Chris so I'm eager to see what's been going on the whole time and who comes back to help him take this monumental task on.
-
RE7 was far better than 8.
-
Probably gonna get downvoted here, but what did RE8 do that was award winning?
It mashed together elements of RE4 and RE7. It was a fun action oriented game with a strong lead, great monsters, and convoluted plot. It was definitely a good time, but it didn’t push the series in any new directions like 4 and 7 did, and was probably a solid B+ game. Other games came out that were more inventive.
I loved it and had a blast with it.
ID: hpcrhsnIt’s not like it was competing against RD2 and GoW lol
-
RE8 is not even close to being as good as Doom Eternal
-
Honestly, how on earth can village be ignored? It's represents everything that makes video games fun. Blows my mind because it was the best game I played this year, bar none

She was so great. Her whole section of the game was my favorite by far.
