- Literally my idea of hell

Why not add Sekiro, Nioh and Nioh 2 as well
ID: hr30wzpID: hr35u01Nice comment replay
ID: hr31j2kAdd Code Vein to that as well, it might be classed as "anime dark souls", but it is a damn good game ngl
ID: hr31pqoSuper Mario 2 added to the list.
ID: hr35199Oh boi nioh 2 solo is a way harder than dark souls in my opinion
ID: hr44cqjNioh 2's difficulty of execution is on a complete other level compared to Dark Souls even before you consider the knowledge of the game's gearing system you're practically required to have to succeed at the end game.
Edit: Downvoted by people who have never played Nioh lmao. Souls games circle jerk never ends. I love the soulsborne games and sekiro is my favorite game of all time, Nioh 2 is harder than all of them both mechanically and in terms of technical requirement in terms of input and it's not even a close race.
ID: hr38m04The Lion King on Genesis.
...or Chakan.
...or Ghouls 'N Ghosts.
ID: hr35fxyI guess no nioh because it's not a fromsoft
ID: hr4aqrlI thought Nioh was a bit easier than every Souls game I've played so far...but having said that I hear Nioh 2 is pure masochism lol
ID: hr47kidThose are quite garbo IMO.

I found Sekiro to be so much harder.
ID: hr3l74bTreat it as a rhythm game and it makes so much more sense.
ID: hr3uuunAs if that makes it easier? That’s just the game. That’s how you play the game. It’s still hard as shit.
Edit: If someone said that they were struggling to get started with the game, this is a good tip. Combat is all about deflection and deflection alone is basically a rhythm game. Players have to embrace that or they won't get through it. But my point is, that's just what you need to get through it. Sekiro is still harder than Bloodborne and every Souls game. The rhythm game aspect of it requires even more knowledge of attack patterns and more discipline than Fromsoft's other games did.
ID: hr412l5Same! Have beaten all the ones in this picture without too much fanfare, but my god was sekiro tough. Excellent game though. Literally took me like 5 hours of solid attempts to beat the guardian ape and now I can do it every time.
ID: hr32pzaSame. I platinumed 3 out of 4 in the picture and i could have easily platinumed DS3, dont know why i didn't. Sekiro though, i barely finished it.

Add microstransactions and pay to win to these and then you get hell. These games are absolute heaven compared to some other shitty games.
-
As long as you go into the game calmly. Darksouls(and consequently the sequels) are great.
-
Then I like being in hell.
ID: hr4d4f2Right? Miyazaki is a legend. One more month for Elden Ring!
ID: hr4h7t4Yeah, I am so hyped about the game.
-
What an original take
-
My idea of heaven.
-
Correction: how to improve yourself. It teaches patience, determination, adaptability, pattern recognition, and anger management.
Still going to be hard as hell. Try not to smash the controllers!
-
I shit you not, someone has beat all these games, back to back to back, hitless.
ID: hr4xygmWhile also not leveling up a single time. And with demons souls included
-
I've been playing dark souls for the first time recently and its not even making me mad. It's quite hilarious how difficult it's been
ID: hr3akvgThe game is not even that hard..I find it that this is still a thing as any game where people can play it with out ever getting hit or kill the hardest boss blind folded is just hype. Once you know how to do some basic things like dodge and parry its just cake walk.
ID: hr3imusYeah this endless take that the Souls games are so hard is incredibly old and just inaccurate. They actually become some of the easiest games after learning some basic timing/tricks.
-
All I can say is good luck
-
I just started my first playthrough of any souls game, Dark Souls 3, I killed the 2nd boss all by myself!
-
Got an hour into Dark Souls. Got killed by an entry level skeleton. Put it away. Played something fun instead
ID: hr3qulvBro that shit is like 10 minutes into the game, I assume you got out of the tutorial and then ran into the graveyard behind firelink. That's meant to be a teaching moment about exploration because despite it being the obvious way to go, it's not the intended first portion of the game.
So you fell at the literal first hurdle lol.
ID: hr41clfI had a fairly similar first experience with Dark Souls (played it a few months after PC release). After around two hours I gave up and declared this game being too hard for me to be enjoyable.
Forgot about it until the Remastered edition got released. Friend at work persuaded me into giving it another try and also told me 3-4 basic hints how to approach a Souls game. What can I say, it's still hard but also one of my favorite games ever.
ID: hr3qzseExactly. I already wasn’t having fun
ID: hr4agraThe only detriment to the 'make as much of the game a single map without loadzones approach' lol. They wanted stuff to branch out but still be accessible so you have 2 end game zones attached to the starting hub.
-
These games were the best times ive had in my entire lifespan so far and they werent rlly that hard
-
At least you would always come back.
-
Just Dark Souls II would be my hell. I’ve seen so many defenses of this game that I can’t disagree with. And yet, I just don’t have fun playing it.
-
Once you play enough of the souls games they're pretty easy tbh. I'm at the point where I can usually beat most bosses my first attempt.
-
2 can go in the trash bin and be replaced by the Demon's Souls remake.
-
These games are not hard they just ask things of millennial gamers that they are not used to being asked.
-
The 4 lairs of hell
-
They aren’t even that hard. Once you complete one
-
the games being as hard as they are combined with the fact that I think souls-like games are terrible yeah, this would be actual hell
-
Why is all remind me of finally doin dark souls 1 platinum?
ID: hr4bd6lreplaying the game on PS5 now and aiming for platinum. But maybe not looking forward to beating it 2.5 times to get all weapons lol.
-
My ideal hell. Missing nioh, sekiro and monster hunter tho. I'll burn in eternity with these >:)
-
Do you not like souls games? I really liked ds1 it was tough but rewarding
-
so you are a masochist, thanks for letting us know i guess lol
-
What a nice hell you have there, I shall come and visit you sometime.
-
Laughs and continues to play Cuphead
-
Oh, I thought it was a coaster set.
-
Especially 2....
-
Hell? More like Heaven! These games are excellent!
-
It's ok to not think these games are fun btw. There's a steep learning curve to get over with all of them, but in my experience once the game clicks with you, you're instantly hooked. Happens with every from soft game I've played.
-
try ninja gaiden on non tutorial difficulties
-
Dark Souls 2? Yeah, pretty much suicide by frustration
-
Who are there so many games like this?
-
Ah yes PS4
-
It is a long and treacherous journey. Few embark on this journey and even fewer can make the journey, but if your will is strong and your butt cheeks stronger you come out the other side. A hollow
-
Can't argue with that statement
-
Me with 100% in sekiro:
-
Just bought ds3, wish me luck…
-
Please, add sekiro to this list, then add no leveling or weapon changing, and never getting hit. You now have a Speedrun.

And demon souls!
