keep the laptop shut close, saves on ressources
get a fan for underneath your laptop

Desk and cooling tray I ordered have now travelled across 4 countires and back again so I've dragged the camping table out!

3/10 Mostly because of the wires. Also if you do have a mouse, there is little space to move it which can be a problem with certain games. The chair looks nice tho in a rustic sort of way.

Close your laptop. The screen and keyboard steals power from your gpu. I get like a 15-20% boost when i close it.

I tense up seeing those cords from the laptop to monitor. The moment you lift you hand up to snack or scratch chin. You’re gonna knock the laptop over.

Hey man, we're about the same age, and I don't appreciate you calling yourself an old man.
Tips: You need some headphones. Plug your external speakers into your monitor's headphone jack and push audio to those speakers through the monitor. Plug your headphones into the headphone jack in the laptop. Right-click the sound icon (bottom right tray) and select output to switch between them when you need to.
Use an old phone charger to power your external speakers rather than powering them through your laptop's USB.
Select to display external monitor only so that you don't have two screens running, using up extra resources.
The resolution on your external monitor is too low. Bump it up to at least 1920x1080
Ideally, you want a rectangular table. Those rounded edges aren't going to do your wrists any favors. You don't have enough surface area to comfortably play for extended periods.

The setup is sick, but that doesn’t look like the safest place for a laptop.
Isn’t there an option to shut the laptop’s screen down while you’re on an external screen?

From one old man to another, one of those strap on lumbar support pillows for the chair is worth its weight in gold.
I think mine was 29 bucks on Amazon. Back pain was gone in 1-2 days.

Cheers I'll have a look at them, have one in work for my shitty offic chair but this has a curved to sit back in, nice height so my long as legs are straight and is oddly comfortable to sit with proper posture.
Honestly went looking at gaming chairs but I prefer this one, been using it for a year and I'm molded to it now.
