- i know 6 is flawed but this campaign was really good
-
Yep. I liked Jake and hope he returns at some point, and it was nice to see Sherry back and in the spotlight. The Ustanak was a cool addition to their campaign.
Probably my favourite out of the four.
The divide on this campaign/Jake is interesting tho.
ID: ht4aux5ID: ht4ctl4I agree. All human mutants.
ID: ht4u389YES the fuckin dream team man, I want it so bad. Sherry and Rose would have such good dialogue, I neeeeeeeed it
ID: ht6t2orWesker would be foaming at the mouth if he saw that team
ID: ht5ycypIf they bring him back I hope they don't mess with his physique or face too bad, the dude was perfect as the son of Wesker, badass
ID: ht5heojHe needs a metal gear rising style spinoff where he goes around hunting BOWs with his fists. Make it silly and fun and you ABSOLUTELY need to end it EXACTLY like rising in a battle against a genetically super powered politician
-
A friend of mine really likes these two and thinks the power of love bullet at the end was a great moment. I uhm. Didn't get it, but hey, glad people enjoy, regardless of my understanding.
-
RE6 was a mess but it was a fun mess. People get so venomous toward it but I don’t get why. Even after 7 brought things back to survival horror they still act like it’s the worst game of all time.
ID: ht5pnpbHonestly, my only big complain about RE6 is the constant use of QTEs. This really annoyed me back then, and it still does.
ID: ht5v6k4Strangely enough, I think this would be the only Resident Evil Game to make an actually good movie.
ID: ht4g5u4The hate does seem disproportionate at times.
It's a fine game, just not a great RE game.
It bites off more than it can chew and there's jank here and there, but it's still solid and while the execution wasn't the greatest, I appreciate what's there.
It's a lot of content, evidently became a case of quantity over quality which is a shame, but I'm still surprised we got 4 different campaigns for free.
Maybe the bar is just low in that regard and I shouldn't praise it for having more base game than expected, but I appreciate it.
Co-op makes it better too.
ID: ht5wky5I'm fine with the length and 4 campaigns personally. I remember around that time there were a lot of games coming out with really meagre little 3 hour campaigns and I found it refreshing RE6 didn't do that.
I can agree on the over-reliance of QTEs a lot of people point out as a problem. That's really the only major complaint I have about RE6.
ID: ht4bg6fYeah, i do think its a bad RE game but i dont get why people decide that you are just wrong if you like 6.
-
It was all good and the hate-bandwagoners are just gonna have to remain pressed.
A terrible RE I'll concede but fuck it, it was a fun as hell ride as an action game.
ID: ht41vdjYeah. Jake'e hand to hand combat system is one of the most fun things in the series, the way he fucking backflip kicks flying creatures and shit is so stylish
ID: ht4850xThat uppercut claw thing is the best lol
-
I can’t get into it
-
I wasn’t a fan of Ustanak. He was largely Nemesis reskinned, with a few new elements. Aside from that, story was ok.
It wasn’t a bad campaign but it didn’t offer anything new. The only bright spot I can think of is the poetic justice when Ada says, “time to show you the kindness your parents didn’t show me” when she helped them against the Ubistvo. Annette held her at gunpoint, William most likely tried to kill her as G, and Wesker probably had it out for her after she disobeyed him.
ID: ht64xhbUstanak is my favourite bioweapon 🙁
-
Jakes hand to hand was the best, dont remember using bullets except ustinok(know i spells that boss wrong). Loved kneeing those lizards in the face then uppercutting them.
ID: ht4g85mYeah i run like 70% of the game in hand to hand lol
-
RE6 is not flawed, the community is. The series is not on a crusade to redefine survival horror.
ID: ht6uuu1People are acting as if resident evil has never been an action game.
ID: ht74qeeRight?? I see the “it’s a bad RE game because it’s action not horror” line all the time, but I don’t see how that does not apply to 5 and the holy grail 4. They all had horror elements, none of them were horror games. Why is 6 the only one that’s considered bad because of it?
-
Unpopular opinion, I had a better time with 6 than with 5.
ID: ht6upvtSame the controls on 5 are horrible imo and some enemies are just Bullet sponge and also the last part of the game is the worst part in any resident evil i've played.
-
this campaign has that fucking AWFUL qte of opening and closing those heavy doors running from ustanak. god, fuck that. I've heard from a lot of people they hated it too.
ID: ht4bog6Ok I'm an unabashed RE6 stan and even I can't defend that mess. That was definitely the worst thing in the game.
ID: ht4gfjnYES
ID: ht4mzqrWhat was so hard about it? Me and my friends never struggled with it on console or PC. It was just the same thing around 4 times.
ID: ht500tkI don't think the complaint is regarding the difficulty (though I really can't stand button-mashings because of CTS and getting arthritic in my dotage and really appreciate the move toward "change mash to hold" in Dad of War, or the "auto-complete" that Spider-man had), but they get tedious and repetitive.
I think 6 had an autocomplete option, but when I played through with my son, he used it and it still managed to fail from time to time.
RE4's QTE fight with Krauser was about the only time the series has used them well, in my opinion. Their presence in RE5 felt like they were more obligation than anything else.
ID: ht4ojoaReading this awakened some bad memories. That was fucking insufferable to go through.
-
Idk I really like 6 and this one is the worst for me. Just embodies the game's weak points.
Leon > Chris = Ada > Jake.
ID: ht47dtbJake has the worst and best chapter all in the same campaign.
-
Nah, but it was still fun
-
I want to see sherry in some game again!! I think she has a lot of potential as character
-
I disagree. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I hated every second of it. The beginning was just a recycled Chris chapter, running from Ustanak was annoying, snowmobile riding was stupid, the facility was boring, the motorcycle chase was frustrating (as Jake at least, with Sherry it's just brainless), the elevator section was annoying and the final boss fight was just me unloading all of my magnum ammo - of which I had too much - into Ustanak for an incredibly easy win, then waiting for him to get in place for a glorified QTE. Plus, Sherry was nothing to write home about even if it was cool to see her again, and Jake's writing was inconsistent and the short runtime of the campaign made his weird affection for Sherry seem forced. The ending was also super cheesy and I felt it was done better in Resident Evil Zero.
Been going through this one proper after only finishing about 30% years ago, and it has not been fun. Played Chris' game in a day and enjoyed the second half, and Piers' was admittedly pretty cool. Sherry's game just pissed me off and it took me a day to get back into it, only to play one chapter of Leon's campaign and turn it back off. I adore this series but Resident Evil 6 is extremely rough around the edges, and I don't think it's as tight mechanically as most so I don't have fun with the gameplay either.
-
I agree. I think RE6 is over-hated.
-
6 was framed for the crimes of 5. It has more horror, zombies, and Chris isn't a dork who seems like he would make his kids tuck their shirts in and call him sir like in RE5. This is definitely better than 5 in almost every way outside of the item management and after people praised 5 for being an action game of course Capcom would do the same thing again. But nooooo NOW all of a sudden fans hate it even though they told Capcom how awesome 5 was when it came out.
-
I loved the chemistry of each team. Always will be my favorite game especially the ending song
-
Loved playing it with my girlfriend, I look forward to another coop RE game in the future.
-
Just like re5. It's only fun with a friend
-
I recently replayed 6 and the only really bad part was Chris’s terrible final boss. Worst boss in the franchise.
-
I like Jake and Sherry, and combat as Jake is definitely fun. However, the vehicle segments and the bizarre white room facility portion heavily detracted from the experience for me.
-
I’ve been playing since the original on ps1, every game has its goods and bads, but resident evil now I feel are good, theres no other franchise will have this volume besides dynasty warriors lol
-
This is funny coming from me because I hate the action aspects of resident evil a lot but I think people are too hard on RE6. At least they tried with the story.
-
I'll defend Jake and Sherry to death. The same goes for Barry and Moira. Resident Evil is plagued with so many generic, emotionally-vacuous characters that never grow, or change, or form meaningful relationships with anyone, that seeing two people fall in love, or watching a father reconnect with his daughter, is like Oscar-caliber writing in comparison. If Capcom wants a zombie apocalypse to actually feel impactful, they need to focus more on the human element.
-
Nah, i liked Leon's campaign and that was it. I mean i like seeing grown up Sherry but this part of the game was an absolute slog as most of it was.
-
genuinely, 6 is a really fun game. it gets a lot of hate for being action rather than horror, but i always really enjoy playing it. chris’ campaign is my favourite

Yo bring Sherry and Jake back to team up with Rose. A trinity of people’s who DNA would make a geneticist faint.
