I didn't know who Jill was until I got into Resident Evil. I knew who Leon was years before I even took an interest in the franchise.

Leon was more iconic to new players cause RE4 change resident evil gameplay and invited more players to playing it including myself.I already play the OG RE2 and RE3.But i dont know about the OG players which would they prefer so i dont know.

Leon by a Longshot. Specifically RE4 Leon. RE2 was the first resident evil game i played and I found out there was a 4th game with Leon in it with incredible graphics, storyline, gameplay and it was 3rd person and I had no idea there was a 3rd game. I found out that that's where nemesis from the movies was from and when I saw the gameplay I was like "ehh.. not impressed." But no lie though RE3 remake Jill... I need her to sit on my face.

I love Leon, I started my journey in the REverse with him and I'm pretty sure the 4 will still be my favourite title no matter what, even if I'm in love with 7 and 8 for what they did to the horror genre, grabbing it's hand trying to pulling it out from the hide n seek garbage most games tend to be.
But I have to be honest, and even if Jill probably died off-screen after RE5, I'm giving the badge to her

Before RE4? Jill for sure especially with her role in RE3:Nemesis she was definitely the RE poster girl for a bit.

Leon is definitely the more iconic character. Jill was a character I only knew about after I started getting into RE while Leon was someone I knew about way before then. I do want to see Jill in the next RE game though

Dude, I fucking LOVE Jill since RE1, but CAPCOM fucked up so badly with Jill that I'd pick Leon now. Leon's great too but Jill could be sooo much more, specially if they did a proper remake (like they did with re2) to re3 or use her in decent games (re5 and rev2 arent that great IMO).
