Because Heisenberg had Ethan run through the Stronghold to test him and see if he's worthy of considering him as a possible ally. He wasn't helping Ethan, he was just using him the same way Miranda was. Heisenberg didn't give Ethan a single reason to trust him, and then he went and told him excitedly to use his six-month-old daughter, who was still not yet revived, as a weapon. Why would Ethan not turn him down?
