- I didn't even know what a Licker was when I played this game, and, needless to say, my blood turned to ICE at this moment.

That is the most subtle 'nope' I've seen in an re game
ID: hzbn31cID: hzbrxc3I think it's meant on a player perspective, most "nope" would have you turning around and running away
ID: hzcoigcNo audio required.

They just want a hug, like a big, skinless, fearsome, blind golden retriever
ID: hzbk7m5Yup, they're just starved for affection.
-
It doesn't matter for how long you've been a fan of RE, these motherfuckers are nightmare fuel
Makes you wonder why Spiderman, a kid friendly hero, has characters like Venom and Carnage around him
ID: hzc4iawIt's even worse because you are seeing these abominations of the T-Virus in full 1080P 60 FPS. This makes sure that the image of their creepy, unnaturally long tongues lolling around is forever burned into my mind.

Licker's need to eat too.
ID: hzc0mbaYeah, the thing about the enemy monsters in this game is, they are all carnivorous and want to eat you; that's why they're trying to kill you. G-Monster/ William Birkin is just a mindless beast who attacks and kills anything in its way, and its only goals (according to the game files) are survival and reproduction. This is why Mr. X is much more terrifying in comparison to the other monsters. He is actively gunning for you, and he won't stop until you're dead, and he proceeds to stalk you with clockwork precision and an almost machine-like detachment. He displays human-like intelligence in his pursuit of you, and yet, he clearly isn't human, what with him lifting a helicopter as if it was a toy, and the unnatural height and grayish-blue skin and all. This contrast, being human-like and also being not human-like, is what really made him scary in my opinion.
ID: hzc5w5xRE 3 Nemesis has entered the chat.
RE3 remake nemesis tried entering chat but was denied
ID: hzc74ubTechnically Mr. X was never even a human to begin with. It's a clone from modified T-002 embryos. The T-002, T-001, and possibly T-011/T-A.L.O.S. are some of the only (if not the only) Tyrants that were ever humans that appear throughout the games.
ID: hzcrtueHe's a B-movie terminator in the scariest fucking way possible lol. I was a proud speed runner who got the platinum trophy and could get through that game with ease.
I hadn't played it in a year and a half but started a couple days ago. I still had my path down pat. I was cruising through the game. Then Mr. X showed up and he fuckedddddddd me up as well as my path. Took me 2 hours to get to the damn sewers in a first run playthrough. Such an awesome and terrifying addition to the game that can really throw you off, even if you know every inch of the police station.

I love the classic music mode in RE2
ID: hzc3zgzYeah, it fits in nicely with the modern visuals and enhances the atmosphere. The Remake soundtrack is also pretty good. Last Judgement, Looming Dread, Collapse, Expansion, Mournful Pursuit, and Betrayal And Death are all great tracks.

Well, I'm assuming you know by this point that Lickers are Zombies that underwent the V-Act process. The V-Act process also turns Zombies into Crimson Heads in the first game, but that's because a different variant of T infected the mansion in that game than the one that infects Raccoon City.
ID: hzc7w5kOh, I'm playing Resident Evil 1 Remake right now. Now I'm even more excited to play it. Thanks for the info, man!
ID: hzdhyepI wondered what a zombie turning into a Licker looked like while roaming the RPD.
ID: hzdm63pWell there were concepts from the beta of 2 that show that there may have been ideas to do in-between forms in the original game, but that also may have been them working their way towards figuring out what the Licker would look like in general as the words translate to "Powered Zombie" for most of them (the final one says "Semi-Tyrant"):
They also have concept art of an in-between form that they were considering for the remake of 2, but those designs never made it into the final version of the remake. Some would've appeared at the Orphanage, but they replaced those with Irons:
-
I remember when the original came out I was in the 6th grade. We stayed up late playing it at a buddy's house and the moment you first see it quickly scurry past the window outside as you're coming around the corner was TERRIFYING!
-
Then you find out they're super easy to cheese with a knife and they lose all scare value
-
I wonder how this sceneries will improve with the PS5 version…can’t wait to replay this game

Lol I was the other way. I was a big fan of the original game. So I was waiting for a Licker to show up.
I hadn't taken much damage and when it did show up I was excited. I got close with my shotty expecting to hit it and have it fall to the ground where I could keep blasting away till it was dead. Like in the original.
I shot it and it freaked out and jumped straight at me slashing me straight to "danger."
I went from cocky to "Sorry to inconvenience you mr Licker." As I ran into the nearest room..
-
Definitely a step up from the original, which is also very effective... the intro to the Lickers that is.
-
I remember seeing the licker for the first time after renting the original RE2… when I was 11. Shit scared me back then too.

Fake re fan
ID: hzccayfRE7 was my first Resident Evil game. I watched the gameplay of Village because my laptop couldn't run it, and then I played this, without playing Resident Evil 1 Remake first. That's why I didn't know what a Licker was. I'm currently playing Resident Evil 1 Remake.

I've only played RE7, watched the gameplay of RE8, and played this game, so how do the characters normally "nope" in RE games? Just curious. I mean, other than these 3 games? Without spoilers, please.
