- Found my old controllers and ready to talk so much smack
Chat pad was key for entering redemption codes!!ID: gqmwstq
X360 worked with random USB keyboards, now that's true Key and faster.ID: gqnsg6v
Yeah, the Sidekick with an Xbox controller attached to it.ID: gqoe299
I still use my chat pad on my Xbox one.ID: gqnc8f0
Was also great for searching for stuff on like Netflix and whatnot.ID: gqnoefj
Mmhmm ( ´◡‿ゝ◡`)ID: gqnj39v
These days though, TV on at least the mid end do have built-in YT, Netflix, etc so turning on another console seems like a hassle.ID: gqmwogf
The Xbox One could scan codes with Kinect.ID: gqns922
This was the best thing about Kinect along with the original voice commands.
I wish they'd make TV controllers with QWERTY. It's so lame trying to type anything with just 4 arrows and a button.ID: gqmife4
I have a qwerty remoteID: gqnp3o2
Bless youID: gqnuadf
Same, from VizioID: gqnsa70
I can verify the Android TV and Roku apps on your phone let your type directly to the device. Just an fyi if you have one of those.
Also lots of remotes on amazon that have a qwety layout on one side that will work with android and apple fire setupsID: gqn3n64
That makes everything better when entering new information.ID: gqmlqop
Well most newer models have a smartphone app and/or a cursor you can move with your remote (like a wii controller basically)ID: gqn9c2p
I bought an LG tv in December, and you can use the remote like a Wii controller with a cursor on the screen. It's fantastic.ID: gqnb29d
I'd like to challenge you to a type off after a couple drinks. You can aim at the TV and click, I'll use QWERTY. First to The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus wins.
I had this chat pad, and it was a lot more intuitive than the people in this thread would think! You have to remember that this felt the same way as the keyboards on our slide-phones that we had at the time. It felt like cutting edge technologyID: gqnjkj4
I want to buy one now, but I don’t think it will work for where I use my controllerID: gqom79u
You just need to work on your kegels more.
Ahaha man this was a game changer after madden matches. Very Sidekick esque. Thanks for this
Old? I still use these controllers for PC, I mean the chatpad ain't much use anymore but 360 controllers are king.ID: gqmjyt3
Well the Xbox one came out in 2013 (day one controller) so theres quite a few dead grunts under both of theseID: gqnbb22
Still got my day one controller as well. That’s my “player 2” controller if a friend is over. Idk why but seeing that “Day one 2013” always makes me smile. That controller is like a trophy to meID: gqml9t1
I still use a 360.ID: gqmwo4x
Do the chatpads work on PC? Think I have one that came in a starter's kit. I never played online, so it never saw use...ID: gqn1pi5
They do if you are connecting via the Microsoft USB Wireless adapter but not Bluetooth. Not sure about USBID: gqmxdbm
thats what i want to know. i would love to be able to add a push to talk button without having to remap everythingID: gqnb9w4
Fuck, I have the exact same setup and I use it to browse youtube on my tv in my room upstairs. My lady got me the chat pad a few years ago. This seems new to me, but I'm old as hell I guess.
Edit: that's an xbox one controller I'm pretty sure. Not 360. Maybe I ain't that old.
Left is 360. My setup is the one on the right.
Wow Bruh! TWO? How many moms did you fuck?
I miss my old ODST controller... Have no clue where it went.ID: gqmsmj1
After Ebony (your cocker spaniel) chewed up the right stick you only used it for baseball games since you only had to flick it occasionally. Then when you went to basic and got sent to your first duty station, you actually bought another 360 from the Gamestop on base. Those years kinda all blend together so you don't remember it distinctly. Your old 360 was still at your parents house along with the ODST controller.
10 y/o kids with these were the most powerful in cod matches.ID: gqnbjrs
I could whip out a Shakespearean slew of insults in just the killcam and then be back to either clapping or getting clapped.... whichever one was the reason for the trash talk lol. It was a golden time
I still use my chat pad on my xbox one
And Sony said, "How about we put our keyboard as far away from your thumbs as possible?"
For two girls I hung out with in college, Xbox360 Text, voice message, and voice chat is how we communicated.
I wrote some nasty ass shit on that little keyboard with one hand.
Once an acquaintance of mine was messing around with the console while I got us food. A message from one fo the girls came in, and he opened it just as a natural reaction from his own system. He was confused and read a few more of the messages. To make it more confusing this girls name wasn't like GlitterxGamerxGirl or something obvious. It was like UnbrokenShield85. Something about a shield.
I come back to the room with Seltzer water and grapes. He's real quiet and just acting weird. He tells me about the message, says he has no problem with gays, but just wants to let me know he's not into me.
I lose it and start laughing. I found a PG voice message from her and played it to chill him out.
Man, I miss that 360 gaming community. Especially 1vs100
Is that the standard shape for the 360 pad?? My memory is shot and they look awful.ID: gqmxyfk
nintendo owned the patent on an actual plus shaped d-pad, but that ran out and now everyone can use them. not entirely sure about this, but i think the xbox one might have been the first non nintendo console to have one
I'm using one of these right now on ps4 with ffxiv. And I really hope they make one for ps5.
I legit got one of these just to talk s*** to people online in COD damn good memories
THATS WHAT THE SLOT IS FOR!?
That chat pad was crucial
Thanks for the first silver only took me 5 years!
I didnt even realize there were two different chatpads made.ID: gqncknc
Xbox 360 and Xbox One, had to get a pad for the new consoleID: gqncs6i
Hahahaha I didn't even register that it was an Xbox One controller whoops
Chatpads are sooooooo good for rocket league. In-game chat, and for trading
