I finally did it!

I had this game on NES nearly 30 years ago. Back then as a kid and even now as an adult I could barely get past the dam and could never figure out where to go in the area afterwards. With the modern luxuries of a walkthrough guide and save states on my SNES classic, I was able to finally beat this game. It was mind blowing to see levels and enemies I have literally never seen before and I have no idea how people are supposed to beat it normally

I beat it, yes its hard, but once you know you can get back your turtles from the levels its not too bad, the overhead maps are a maze and the base is hard to navigate but thats numbered, finding the technodrome was and still is the hardest bit of the game, once your in its not too bad at all. Shredder can one shot you though so watch out for that gun.

My way was patience and donatello. Especially in that area right before the last boss. I cheesed it by staying on a higher ledge and using my bo staff kill things if they happen to line up.

I don't think I'd ever beat it redeem if I'd kept my original copy and played it non stop for 30 years. That shit is hard, kids these days don't know the pain

The hardest part imo was the "tunnel of hell" in the last part of the Technodrome before meeting Shredder. The damn laser hover guys keep spawning and if you don't kill the ones already chasing you it's impossible

yup, I am a huge Turtles fan but was always disappointed in the game because it wasn't like the arcade game

I was able to get past those as a kid (sometimes after a continue) by figuring out the path that I want to take in finding all of the bombs. The worst is getting to the last one and finding out you missed one. Sometimes it's actually advantageous to sacrifice a turtle in order to start over but with all the bombs you've already taken out gone so you can focus on the last part.

I might have to try this romhack I've been wanting to try that fixes a lot of the enemies to better match the source material
