Imagine a Black Flag game but with the game mechanics of SoT....

I think Sea of Thieves has the best ocean/wind physics out of any game I have played, I absolutely would never disagree with that. On the other hand, I think it gets a bit repetitive and with only 4 people per party, only 3 boat choices for a main boat, everything is pretty limited EXCEPT cosmetic unlocks and purchases. I would love to see an update with new ships, not just updated designs for same old ships. Like a small 2 person sailboat, like no downstairs to it at all, just a single level single sailboat, no cannons, maybe a grappling hook designed for absolutely cruising.
Just my thoughts - don't crucify me lol
ID: gtlc4g6Would love to see currents, tides, and a little more marine life on the desolate rocks.
ID: gtlzul8Yeah that'd be awesome. Add some more tricks to navigating safely. Maybe random reefs spawning to go aground on as well. Would be absolutely awesome to come back to ship and see it beached at low tide, hilarious facepalm moments
ID: gtmmctkYeah its weird playing a game that revolves around the ocean, yet there's no whales, dolphins, different sea monsters, or starfish and crabs on the beaches. Im sure it'll be part of some content update though.
ID: gtlzm03Shit so they still haven't added a larger ship? Damn
ID: gtm0ducsame still 3 original ships. They could do SOOO much with that game. it has SOOOO much potential. Idk - seems like they are content with small patches and updates with new "seasons" of different colored stuff but same hack and slash over and over.
ID: gtm3un4Same. Yeah the water is beautiful and the sailing is fine but...That’s it. I have tried on 4 different occasions to try and get into the game and it’s gameplay sucks, and there’s barely anything interesting to do.
ID: gtmxw2bIt's gameplay is amazing, there just isn't anything that feels worthwhile to do
ID: gtm8c73Agree. They have the bones already of a truly epic game. It's just not that interesting after you've had your fill of the fantastic look and a few pvp or pve experiences.
-
The first time I was in awe at water graphics was AC Black Flag.
ID: gtm9pggFor me it was wave race 64.
ID: gtma49cShit, that's old. Great game though.
ID: gtm98gucan't believe it's already going on 8 years old. certainly a high water mark in ocean graphics.
-
It does have the best water, and IMO that's all it has.
-
Ever heard of Subnautica?
ID: gtmgoogSub-nauseous
ID: gtmgqfhYes
-
Laughs in Far Cry
-
No it didn't lmao. Is this a veiled Sea of Thieves ad?
-
That's a weird thing to say about a game an overwhelming majority of people have never played.
-
It hasn't. Not for me.
ID: gtljh1aYou must have some sort of crysis.
-
Never played. Is it fun?
ID: gtkvphwgame has zero progression,no goal anything.there is a reason a handful of people enjoy it.i wish it was like an mmorpg
ID: gtkx2oaThere just isn't power progression, it still has reps, titles, achievements, pirate legend, and cosmetics. Plus, there is this great thing called playing a game for fun and not just rewards.
ID: gtkwvnlFuck the wilds, all my homies love the Shores of Plenty.
ID: gtlfzunThe sailing is really dynamic and fun. All of the land content is mediocre at best. PvP aspects have a 50/50 chance of being either the most fun you ever had or extremely toxic and frustrating.
Basically, you can't take this game too seriously or you will be disappointed no matter what you want out of it. If you can find friends it can be really cool.
ID: gtll5i2The game is extremely fun. It can get a bit repetitive over a long time, but that's why my friends and I take breaks from it. We come back for updates and generally whenever it sounds fun to play again.
The progression is quest, reputation, and cosmetics based. No one has an advantage over you, other than having played longer. PvE quests are fun, as well as PvP play. Worth it.
ID: gtkveimExtremely fun. Ranges from wholesome fun to competitive. It can get a little griefy but that’s part of the experience. I would recommend it to anyone, even children.
ID: gtlgqafIt can get a little griefy
Pirate game has griefing? Well...
ID: gtl65ynI absolutely love it, but if you don't like PvP the game can get a little stale. Personally I am not having a good time unless I am causing someone else to have a shitty time.
ID: gtm7523It was. Before they added all the magical bullshit in. You can stop an enemy ship with magic cannon balls that lower anchor and raise sails. Completely ruined naval PvP.
ID: gtkxdalif you’re looking for a game to hop on and absolutely enjoy for a little while with friends* (more so cause theres not reslly an end game) sea of thieves is definitely your match & game really sucks you in on max graphics! ps. you can use xbox game pass 1$/month deal and download SoT that way and just cancel your sub before the month is up
-
It's just a shame the "game" part isn't as mesmerizing as the water.
-
Best Water Shader of the whole gaming industry.
Change my mind.
-
I would disagree
ID: gtmgmydSubnautica
-
Ah yes its different then when it was in my mouth
ID: gtkzvstI hope your still talking about the water....
ID: gtl037pOf course my friend
-
I have no idea what you are talking about... (plays sea shanty playlist on Spotify)
-
I didn’t realise it looked this good. I wish it was on PlayStation.
-
That's pretty! Valheim has some amazing physics/coloring to its water as well.
ID: gtllx0kI wouldn't say Valheim's water is "amazing". It has what the standard water should be. Sea of Thieves definitely has the best water physics and graphics I have seen in any game. Anyone denying that is just a hater of the game itself.
ID: gtm4au9Valheim
Has tides and all that though. I asked a friend who plays this game, and he said it (Sea of Thieves) does not...
-
This is water???? Looked like a beautiful mountain landscape to me
-
Tried to get into it with my friends but the long time sweats pushed us out. Was not able to get much of the story done due to this so we just uninstalled and moved on. It's a shame not many pirate games these days and the music was great
-
Not only water, there is basically a world made so much that you can spend a vacation there.
-
I always wanted to buy it, but alas I only have a playstation
-
I only buy games based on the water looks.
-
Get really drunk and throw up in it.
-
It looks nice, but that's it. The physics are basic AF with a thoroughly mediocre implementation.
-
Until that one guy shoots the gunpowder barrel and the whole ship starts to sink
-
When the big wave hits your ship and it goes like N
-
Bout time
-
If only there was some gameplay in the water...
-
It changed so much that it's the first time i've heard anything about Sea of Thieves' water
-
The water is the only thing thats good in sot
-
Subnautica on high graphics is the most beautiful water and scenery every in a game. Prove me wrong
-
There are no water or plant physics. RDR2 blows all the competition out of the water when it comes to graphics as well.
-
I bet you drink blended crocs you undeniably stupid cabbage minded lamppost
-
Sea of Thieves has changed the way people look at water in gaming forever.
