I find Re3 way more fun than Re2

1 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:32 ID: mwa2i5

I can't say which game is better but i definitely enjoy re3 more. Re3 has the dodge mechanic,no bullet sponge enemies and bosses and is overall way more faster paced than 2.

I stopped comparing them to the originals since re2 was barely trying to be a remake and re3 wasnt even trying but i compare them as standalone games.

And 3 has no bad sections imo 2 has the sewers which were bad in the original and are somehow much worse in the reimagening.

The guns in Re3 sound and feel better aswell.

2 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:39 ID: gvgvt6t

I love them both. I just wish RE3 had more content.

ID: gvgwzau

Re2 had a lot of content but i didn't dig most of it. The 4th and ghost survivor modes didn't do anything for me i tried them like once and i was like meh. People say 2 has four campaigns but it really has two. The 2nd run is embarrassing if im honest it's almost indentical to the first run kinda wish it wasn't in the game at all. But Re3 def needs mercenaries

ID: gvgxet9

I agree with all of that.

3 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:49 ID: gvgx7zl

It’s to linear and lack exploration, stupid qte , Nemesis dumb scripted mechanisms, cut content (grave digger, clock tower, abandoned factory etc), to short for 60 bones game. And enemy still a bullet sponge u just got a lot more ammo in this game and it really easy with dodge mechanic....

ID: gvgxk36

I like the linearity, yeah the qte's and scripted nemesis encounters are bad It's not trying to be like the original so not having those locations and the gravs digger is fine

ID: gvhq9z2

It should be though, it’s a REMAKE. It’s in the name.

4 : Anonymous2021/04/22 19:01 ID: gvh7i7w

three has a few problems for me that lower it below 2. the elephant in the room being the length and linearity. i really like the more open feel of raccoon city in the original game, and making it so linear and disconnected into areas you just sprint through to avoid nemesis is super annoying.
but more importantly i dislike some features of the higher difficulty modes that make it very frustrating and feel barely balanced. nemesis' 4th boss battle and the carlos horde sections coming to mind. nightmare mode is super fun and would have been the best way to experience the game if these sections were balanced better

5 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:54 ID: gvgxwid

And 3 has no bad sections

I would argue most of the game is bad sections other than early Downtown and parts of the Hospital. Other than those it felt like it was mostly linear corridors and action set pieces which I don't find satisfying at all. I think it simply comes down to wanting different things out of them. You say 2 is slower as a bad thing but I can only view it as a good thing. We have enough linear action games imo. I'd rather RE play like the 2 remake

6 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:45 ID: gvgwoin

Its not a bad game. The reason people dont like it is because lots of stuff was cut that was in the original one.

ID: gvhfn4e

Correct. I don't even dislike it for it, it's just a pity.

ID: gvgx4ha

I was mad at first but i realised it's not trying to be like the original. It's a different Re3

ID: gvgxugl

Unfortunately i cant see it as a standalone game since its literally called re3. I dont think its technically a bad game just not as fun and more boring to me. I personally like re2 much more. And re3 original more. If re3 wasnt called re3 I probably would like it more as itd be easier to differentiate. But because its supposed to be a remake in some way seeing it as a standalone is not really sensible to me.(maybe partly because ive played every resident evil made since it cane out more than 20 years ago, so im fairly passionate and super bout it).

ID: gvhacpi

I hope you don’t take this as an offence to you personally but I hate when people say content was cut for RE3 remake.. Capcom has never EVER said that RE3 remake was going to be a 1:1 remake. A remake doesnt necessarily means that it will be the same content as the original.

And on top of that, the OG RE3 didnt even take longer to finish then the remake.

ID: gvhfv0y

Oh, come on... RE1R was RE1+extra content. RE2R was RE2+extra content (minus good AB/AB). RE3 was rush rush snip cut. Not a bad game, but it doesn't matter what Capcom said it would be, they set the standards with RE1R and RE3R didn't deliver.

ID: gvhe5q2

Cut content is just a short way of saying “content that was in the original game that was not brought over to the remake”. I don’t know what other term people would use for it. I have little doubt that most of the stuff not in re3 remake was never planned to begin with. And I don’t think people using the term cut content is meant to suggest that the content was planned.

ID: gvhq5g5

Why do people keep saying this? It’s not true, there are plenty of people who think it’s a bad game in itself, me for example.

ID: gvhrbju

Me too! But I already wrote essays about it and Im tired of it at this point (and there are plenty of reviews on youtube that mirrors that sentiment).

7 : Anonymous2021/04/22 20:59 ID: gvhnz8e

The only thing I could find commendable about it was how it set up the events of re2 remake (how marvin got bit eg)

ID: gvhquep

I mean that’s just a nice touch, not some great part of the game.

ID: gvhryv2

I know I'm saying it's the only positive I found

8 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:41 ID: gvgw30z

Three is a great game, its just not enough game.

ID: gvh7n5w

I can’t agree with this more, I loved RE3 but I wish there was more of it 🙁

9 : Anonymous2021/04/22 20:38 ID: gvhkz83

I feel like you... but exactly the opposite way.
RE2 feels like a proper survival horror game with old school puzzles. RE3 is too much action, linear and not much puzzles.

ID: gvhqk7e

Exactly! Everyone keeps saying that people don’t like RE3R because it’s too short, or that it’s a bad remake, but some just think it’s a bad game.

10 : Anonymous2021/04/22 19:36 ID: gvhcdwh

The story of RE3 is just too short, can’t compete.

ID: gvhcv3r

Yeah the original re3 was just super long amirite

ID: gvhd1jo

I didn’t say that it was dude. What is happening to you right now lol

11 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:51 ID: gvgxfqj

I do, too. RE2R was a good game, but I appreciated the dodge feature, the reduction in backtracking and increased bullet effectiveness in 3R. I also enjoyed progressing through Raccoon City's streets instead of being confined to a single building. I just wish the game had been longer and included better bonus content.

ID: gvgxwxz

I mean i just wish the entirety of re2 was as good as the R.P.D the lab is ok but the sewers are shit. Hard to navigate with insanely annoying enemies

ID: gvgxzbz

Same. Let me play as Carlos thru his entire story!!!

12 : Anonymous2021/04/22 18:27 ID: gvh2r7y

I like 3make for the bonus stuff from the store. being able to buy a costume ( sad it's only one), weapons, offensive and defensive items all for in-game points you get by playing the game makes me enjoy it soo much. I just wish I could have an infinite magnum

ID: gvh5bw0

Yeah infinite rocket launcher is cool and all But why no infinite shotgun and infinite magnum...

ID: gvh64xb

I enjoy random infinite weapons. Sometimes they break balance and immersion but other times they give you false confidence and you get demolished. I love it

13 : Anonymous2021/04/22 21:13 ID: gvhpxx5

It is much better than Code Veronica

14 : Anonymous2021/04/22 22:03 ID: gvhwr98

I enjoyed 3 more despite its flaws. It's definitely better on some levels. I really disliked RE2's maze-like sewers and that chess puzzle, such a chore.

15 : Anonymous2021/04/23 00:01 ID: gvibe8q

I also enjoy RE3 more than RE2, but I can't help but feel like more love and effort was put into RE2.

16 : Anonymous2021/04/22 21:13 ID: gvhpz9y

I HIGHLY disagree especially about RE3R having less boring parts but I can’t get mad at someone’s opinion.

17 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:38 ID: gvgvnkf

Kudos for making that very important distinction in your first sentence. There's absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying RE3R more - it's a well-paced game with memorable moments, even though it feels like a step backwards in several regards - respect for the series' legacy being the major offense.

I hope Village turns out to be something truly special and that most fans, if not all, can enjoy it.

18 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:54 ID: gvgxvzm

I JUST finished my first run of RE3, and I really enjoyed it. I understand people wanting more, but I thought it was really well done. It’s the most fun I’ve had playing a resident evil game since RE4.

19 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:56 ID: gvgya3u

I also prefer RE3R

20 : Anonymous2021/04/22 17:51 ID: gvgxf85

I loved re3 compared to re2. I agree with you.

21 : Anonymous2021/04/22 19:59 ID: gvhfkyc

RE3R's only sin is being too short and leaving too much out from the original. That's the one thing RE2R has going on for itself.

ID: gvhg4cd

Was re2 faithful to the original? Because the only faithful part was the R.P.D

ID: gvhuk8t

Because the only faithful part was the R.P.D

Its a huge part of game though. The only thing that resembles RE3:Nemesis in remake is the train cut-scene with nemesis being blasted by Mikhail. Literally everything else, including locations and their layouts, is completely different.

ID: gvhqryh

That’s not the only thing

22 : Anonymous2021/04/22 18:11 ID: gvh0fet

Re2 remake and re3 remake are both great games. I just felt like a lot more love and attention went into RE2remake.

I had a blast playing both games, just after finishing 3, I had more "I wish they did ______" than I did after I finished 2.

One think I was hoping for was more walking around Raccoon City. Seeing more of the complete downfall. The beginning of the game is the best part.

23 : Anonymous2021/04/22 19:14 ID: gvh9czg

I'm just gonna ask this here. So if re2 has 60% off and wasn't even that expensive to begin with and re3 has 67% off and is normally wayy more expensive, which one should I buy?

ID: gvhqmwp

RE2 for sure.

24 : Anonymous2021/04/22 19:26 ID: gvhb2fk

I agree, 2 may be a better game content wise but 3 is so much more fun to replay for some reason....

26 : Anonymous2021/04/22 20:16 ID: gvhhzbz

I think the main complaint for 3 is that they cut it too short. They should've at least added the clock tower section. But it's fast paced fun game.

Also, they nailed the chemistry between Jill and Carlos.

27 : Anonymous2021/04/22 23:44 ID: gvi9f15

well since re3 is more action focus so maybe u liked to kill zombies more than exploration

28 : Anonymous2021/04/22 23:45 ID: gvi9i75

No i loved the exploration in the R.P.D i just didn't everything after it

29 : Anonymous2021/04/23 00:05 ID: gvibvy2

i liked the sewers part

30 : Anonymous2021/04/22 23:51 ID: gvia8kp

I got all the achievements in 3, but I don’t see myself going back and getting them in 2, that being said I like the lighting and way the zombies get dismembered in two better

31 : Anonymous2021/04/22 23:57 ID: gviayy7

My main problem with 3 is I couldn't take Nemesis seriously as a threat when it turned into its feral form. I love how they handled Birkin in 2, each form was more horrifying than the last one.

32 : Anonymous2021/04/23 02:20 ID: gviryuk

I just wish they made Raccoon City more explorable and had more sequences where Nemesis got the Mr X treatment.
