Not only do I find Ashley not annoying, I enjoy the parts where she is with you. Adds an extra layer to the gameplay in managing her and keeping her safe, marries game mechanics with the story since she is your whole objective, and just adds the additional tension.
I actually have far greater issues with managing Sheva as an AI partner in RE5 than I ever did with Ashley in RE4.

I thought we'd all gotten to the point where we were okay with Ashley because of how 99% of the time she's a non-issue, and if she IS an issue there's essentially a cheat code to turn the mechanic off.

I didn't hate her or want to see her die, but her proximity to Leon was frustrating, she was whiney, and she called him a pervert if he fell at her feet. (Doubt he was thinking about a roll in the sack after getting smashed by a spiked flail) Then she wants to date him. Yep, kinda irritating.

Is it bad I actually kinda like her now? She stays out of the way and isn’t hard to protect. Her screaming can be a bit much, but I didn’t mind her character or personality. My family absolutely hates her tho bc of her screaming lmao
