Too bad Tony Jay who voiced the Elder God is no longer among us.
His unique voice is not one you can simply recast.

ID: gvxjwj8Yeah, I guess you can say that the dude involved in the binding, the creation of the 9 pillars, and the forging of the soul reaver was somewhat less important than the eldritch monstrosity that tricked the races into preserving the wheel of fate.
But yeah, Rene Auberjonois, Tony Jay and Paul Lukather (Vorador) added gravitas to the story of Nosgoth. I couldn't imagine this series' success without such iconic voices.

Btw. Did you know Anna Gunn (Skyler from Breaking Bad) was the voice of Ariel? I wish she game interview brings it up with her sometime.

Completed this multiple times on the Dreamcast. Absolutely loved throwing the spears at enemies to skewer them to the walls lol.

When blood omen legacy of Kain fell into my lap for ps1, i loved every bit of it, turning to mist or a bat, then came soul reaver, eating souls after evolving past Kain! Bravo! I wish they would remake these classics

This is a series had such great writing and world building. Also Tony Jay (RIP) as Squid God. Yes bring it back.

This was one of the first games i played when i was like 7 oder 8 years old.
I got from this German gaming journal called "ComputerBildSpiele", it always had a few full games and some Demos included for just 3 to 5€, amazing!
I remember getting this one in one of them, including a few pages of guide for the first few minutes or levels, still struggled sooo hard. I remember getting some golden two-headed-spear which rekt the monsters. Then i threw it and it got lost, i was so sad xD
I wish i could get that feeling back to actually struggle through such a game. Now i'm an experienced gamer rocking everything on hardest diff but man, these where the days, i miss it.

The closest I got to a full game from a gaming magazine was a demo for the PS2 game 'Extermination' from Playstation Magazine demo disk in late 2001. I think the demo was about 40 minutes long, but that was a lot longer than most demos.

I dont know how many of you guys know how many remake, sequel, prequel etc. this serie had that have been cancelled, but it's massive. No wonder they won't touch it again. Here a list of all the prototype and stuff

Where many cut their teeth on Tomb Raider for 3-D platforming, but this was mine. I loved the story, the mechanics, and the graphics for their time was something special. I went back and played the original Legacy of Kain to see where the story began and then eagerly awaited the sequel on PS2. While I was a little let down by the story telling and some of the mechanics, I was very happy to see it continued.
Of all the remade or reimagined game series that have come over the last couple of decades, I'm surprised this one has been remained dormant. With a mechanical and graphical upgrade, the epic story could be re-told and some of the story beats could be refreshed and rewritten for modern audience. I would like to see it episodic.

Agreed! With today's technology this could be an incredibly atmospheric game. It would bring in us older folks but I'm sure would draw in newer crowds as well.
