I still rock that armor on my bounty hunter. They don't make games like SWG anymore
ID: gw9q3u1ID: gwah9doI would love for a new mmo to take a risk an implement special classes that are literally not playable at character creation. although Jedi in SWG are controversial, the way they actually secretly put them into the game secretly was friggen awesome.
ID: gwb2tf4been following SWG dev projects for years, particularly Raph, but they just seem to evaporate one after another. Someone needs to get some money behind a studio implementing something like SWG again. Best game I ever played, from July 2003 until sunset.
ID: gw9n4p3It may have been pretty sparcely populated by npcs and whatnot when it came out but I loved that game and the way they did the skill trees and characters. I was so sad when I went back to it and it was 9 classes.

ID: gwal5dcIs it still up?
ID: gwaonsvFinding Fort Tusken on accident is still one of my favorite gaming moments of my life.
ID: gw9rlneI wish they would Star wars really needs a new MMO...TOR hasn't aged that well the WOW like gameplay is a bit boring IMO I want something that at least looks like Battlefront 2 but is a third-person MMO.
ID: gw9rsxvThat could be fun. Maybe something more sandbox and varied than the WoW clone that is TOR.
If one wants to fight and raid, they can. If one wants to drink at the carina and play music, they can do that too.
ID: gw9uz5xGod I miss what it felt like to play SWG in it’s hay day, but the community on SWGEMU definitely scratches that itch still. They even brought back Creature Handler 🙂
ID: gw9wi1sHave they brought back ships yet? I stopped following development ages ago.
ID: gw9z0ggI miss the bounty hunting lol running past them as I dropped my traps then lol then melee into long range good times
ID: gwa8w9aGame was such a great MMO pre cu update. I miss my bantha
ID: gwbcux6I started playing SWG at a very young age (9/10) and I remember shortly after the NGE I met a guy named something along the lines of "Dillon Lightstrider" or something. We hung out every day after school and would grind and do space stuff.
He told me that in real life, he was disabled and had trouble making friends. As a kid, I didn't really understand it but looking back, I am glad I was able to meet and play with him for all those times.
I don't know what became of him. It's been so long. But I hope he is doing well.

Never appreciated having typical health until i saw the xbox controller designed for accessibility, and how few options people had before that
ID: gw9lut1Yeah the idea of losing a finger was to me beyond acceptable just because of using controllers and gaming on a keyboard.
Even now it sounds awful but at least now I can get the Xbox Adaptive Controller you mentioned and some foot pedals / buttons. Even if you lose an entire hand now you can use a one handed controller and a 3dRutter Foot Motion Controller as an analog controller for your feet to have dual analogs (both found under accessories in provided link).
ID: gwb0gpiHoly shit I didn't know this was a thing. Looking through the site it nearly brought a tear to my eye. The amount of work and effort to give the disabled gamers a chance to play is amazing. Bless those who work on these things. Small in the sense of the world, but large in the sense of the gamers playing.
ID: gwbbjqkMS creating the controller for disabled people is one of the few times I've respected a PR move. I haven't heard anything negative about the controller so I have to assume it's designed well and good quality. At only $100 there's no way they're expecting to make a big profit because they will inevitably sell so few.

Odd choice of name for a ranged character, but good taste in anime.
ID: gwbbc0hI'm glad someone said it cause I was afraid to
ID: gwbbn4oStill cool af

Fuck I miss Star Wars Galaxies.

God I miss SWG, nothing like it will ever be created again... all MMOs now are on rails and boring as fuck because everyone still ends up with the same stats/armo
....The crafting alone is what made this game stand out from every other game ever created. Roaming resources on planets with varying degrees of percentages on them made it unique, which then in turn equated to either a amazing item or shit tier all dependent on the quality of resources found.
Wanderhomies unite.
Beers Von Rockefeller flips a coin
I was Dartt Dooley, on Wanderhome. No one special, but damn did I love PvP in that game.
ID: gw9ldeaFunny how the internet ruined MMOs, the wonder and exploration is gone when everything is mapped and drop rates are on searchable tables.
ID: gwagvptEverything is boiled down into a spreadsheet so you know how to do the most damage, the fastest method to the best rewards and the shortest time to level up.
People want to achieve as much as possible in the smallest timeframe, and more power to them, but it leaves the people who want that slow burn of exploring and enjoying the world on the outer.
ID: gwak3nxThe skill-based system of SWG still beats anything that has come out since. When you saw someone in the world, you really had no idea what you were up against, unless they were well-known on the server. I miss it.

Huntress says hi.

God rurouni kenshin is such a good show
-
Jason sounds like a really awesome guy.

Me: born with a disability, plays games to escape reality and do things I can't normally do. Meets lots of disabled people playing videogames over the course of 40 years all trying to escape their issues with gaming. Makes great friends along the way.
.....Modern day......
People: "Add wheelchairs to games so disabled people can feel represented!"
Me: Confused Screaching

Sick set of composite. Rocking that 40% stun layer or is this the 80/90 pve set?
-
Rurouni Kenshin
Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
-
This is one of the few times I have watched someone use the word gamers unironically, and it just adds that much more weight to all this. I hope he is still alive and playing games, I wish I got to know him, seems like a very insightful person to get along with.
-
RIP star wars galaxies
-
Love the kenshin name because of the fact its from one of my fav anime.
-
I love the name kenshin for the fact that it is from one of my favorite anime.
-
I wished I got to experience SWG.
ID: gw9evyjID: gw9g3x0Is it easy to get set up?

IIRC this article was posted above a urinal in an office I worked at once many many years ago. Weird.
-
SWG... ahh the memories
-
I miss my master pikeman now
-
I miss SWG so badly.
-
Best game of all time, as well. It was an MMO with such a strong player community that it went head to head with Wow despite having no raids and basic content. They gave us a Star Wars sandbox to live in the universe. Sadly Corporate greed spiraled that into nothing.
-
I see you, kenshin. Badass anime.
-
Damn he's Mr House IRL

Raph Koster who was the lead game director and one of the designers of SWG Pre-CU, just returned to MMO development after consulting on other projects. It wont be SWG 2, but you can probably bet on some things carrying over to whatever this new project of his is.
I'm cautious but also optimistic about it.
