Probably been asked but im new here and I haven’t seen the question. Also there is no IMDB for games really so I just thought id ask here. Personally I thought it was a pretty solid game and I did enjoy it quite a bit, sure some of the dialogue was cheesy and well parts of the plot were odd and didn’t make loads of sense but i thought the villains were quite fun to face against and it was always fun to play so id say i enjoyed it, and i mean i was invested enough to wanna know how it ended.

Much funnier than 7.
-
It pretty much did what RE6 failed to do. It combines a bit of everything from previous Resident Evil games.
It combines the horror, action and atmosphere of the previous games so it has something for everyone. I wish it had more complex puzzles but overall a very good game.

Better than 7 in almost every conceivable way.
-
One of the best RE games in the series.
-
Its a really good game. But, the dumb stuff Chris does plotwise brings it down a bit. The heisenberg boss fight is stupid too.
I feel they tried to do much in the game.
ID: h8kve6xYh the heisenberg thing is the only bit that was very meh for me, and the chris thing was more of a plot point so they could reveal something later but wasn’t handled well at all. But yh i did have loads of fun with it. Thanks for responding

Solid 9/10 game. Better than 7 in almost every way. Amazing atmosphere and locations. Cool monster design and variety. Crazy but cool story with some decent emotional moments. Pretty good characters. Decent gameplay. Good music when it's there. Overall, a very memorable game I would fully recommend. Wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it's definitely one of the good ones.

Honestly one of my top games of all time beside re 7, mario odyssey, and alien isolation
-
It’s alright. Not quite as good as re7 for me.
-
It’s a fun game but it’s no where near the best RE game In the series
-
What do you mean there's no IMDB for games? Somewhere for people to vote? I guess metacritic would be that with user votes.
But RE8 was tons of fun, and I really like how the gameplay changed depending on the Lord you were against. Not sure where I'd rank it exactly but most likely in my top 5.

I really enjoyed it! I liked the RE4 feel

Smack dab in the middle of the road.

Its really disappointing for me. It feels purely like a game made by a bunch of executives interfering in its development than one that actually had a goal or purpose and instead of improving on what made 7 excellent the devs had to suddenly create an action game from scratch because 7 didnt sell well enough to appease capcoms shareholders. The 4 lords just suck as a concept breaking the game apart into linear scripted events with an awful final villain making the plot a 4/10 at best. Any good idea instead of being fleshed out is undercooked and finished in like an hour such as Dimitrescu stalking you, the horror of house beneviento or moreaus whole reservoir. Compared to 7 or 2 remake which kept a grounded focused plot progression and locations 8 just feels like it was made to be bigger, but in no way better than any of the more restricted and limited games like 7 or 2 remake.
ID: h8kvwt9Whilst I did enjoy the game a lot, the more I think about i think they tried to do too much. If the Castle was the whole focus with lady D being the main villain it would have been better.
ID: h8kxychThe biggest issue is every horror resi title has you leave the Main location at points such as the guardhouse or caves of spencer mansion, but you always come back to the main location at least once more and get to see 10-12 new rooms like coming back to the rpd in 2. 8 if it had completely cut the whole open world village area and instead had heisenbergs factory be under the castle and the other locations like the reservoir just outside the castle might have been the best resi title ever. Instead stretching out the world killed any potential use of item boxes or inventory management and showed just how underdeveloped and rushed the game was comipared to older titles like re4 which actually fleshed out each new villains location with an hour or two of content compared to moreau and donnas god awful locations that reek of cut or unfinished content. Imagine how much more amazing it would have been to walk into donnas section of the castle by taking an elevator down and finding the gothic architecture changing completely as you need to complete it to get the key to open one of the doors, or if the key to the rooftops was in moreaus swamp outside before you return. Castle D needed to be the centrepiece of the story and it not being is where the game lost most of its potential imo
ID: h8kuh35Interesting response, i think there are issues with it , but the game did entertain me and have me engaged, which is all i need personally. I do agree that the best villain, lady dememascu was underused tho cus i really liked her and the whole vampire concept was really cool, and mother miranda wasn’t as interesting as she should have been.
ID: h8kx1juoh the game is entertaining, but its actual gameplay loop isnt solid IMO. theres no reason to go back to play it. i can play 2 remake ad nauseum because managing items and improving getting through the police station faster feels amazing. i dont get that from village with enemies dropping money and scripted sequences that take like 10-20 minutes and play the exact same way each time. 7 had the exact same problems, but 2 remake took 7 and cut the unskippable cutscenes etc to perfect what 7 started
ID: h8lfc39Personally, the game feels like there was a lot of love and passion put into it. Doesn't feel like a soulless game at all. You don't get such beauty and such careful, detailed design in a soulless corporate game.
ID: h8lgcgyTrue, but thats more on the devs talent. But all that hard work on so many locations in the game is squandered by the bizarre choice to have it be some shitty generic fps game with re4s cache system than an atmospheric gothic survival horror game
-
It's too easy, lacks tension and is overall a pretty boring game with a lame story. I actually prefer RE6 and I consider myself a diehard old school RE fan.
ID: h8l4ycbVery different opinion fair enough tho
-
Agree with what you said
-
Very fun
-
I think it was pretty okay. There were some noticeable problems though, like how the lycan fights are annoying, Ethan is a toilet-brain and that the Steam port doesn’t work very well. Other than that, my sister and I enjoyed the game’s story and graphics.
-
I thought the game was really solid, the beniviento house was very put of place but I still enjoyed it. I didn't really like how they connected the mold and the zombies. The game had a huge tonal difference than the other games IMO. I still really liked it, definitely more than seven.
-
I watched a friend play it and felt it would be too difficult for me. I get nauseous with FPS, and have never gotten through 7.
Also, for me, I do not like Ethan and the pacing was off for the four hours I watched
-
It’s a brilliant game that really ties a lot of ideas and mythologies together well but also has a few missed opportunities such as allowing you to progress in a non-linear fashion. I think the game suffers under multiple play through that’s high light it’s weaknesses rather than providing new challenges.
But it also has some great RE moments that place it well within the numbered series.

Yh the puzzles were not too hard , but the puzzles in 7 i found the same haha.
