Why do people care so much about graphics? Y'all ever play something like Rimworld or Space Station 13 where the graphics are dogshit anyways? If the game is fun, the game is fun.
ID: h9knbj9It's not about the graphics (sort of) it's about the consistent low effort. It's the most lucrative IP in the world and this is what they put out.
It's perfectly fine to have fun with it but you can still want/expect more. Think about how much MORE fun you could have had if they actually put effort into it.
ID: h9l0sg5Is it so much to ask to create a game world that contains more than 1 type of tree, 1 type of grass texture, 1 type of ground texture... i mean c'mon this is what you expect out of 10 year old indie games. Pokemon seems kinda cool and I've never played one but this game world looks naked af besides being littered with pokemon here and there. I guess if you're an addict that is acceptable.

Since a lot of people seem to be angry at me ‘blindly hating on the new pokemon game’, I’ll share my actual opinion.
I don’t really think Graphics are a big part of games for me personally , the best looking game of all time is a 2D game imo (Cuphead by the way, the only other thing that comes close is TLOU2, but while on a objective level, that game is by far the best, I don’t feel like it has a great artstyle to back up the insanely realistic graphics), but I would still say while the concept and so far execution is fantastic, the world looks slightly bland. It doesn’t have many landmarks or npcs yet. I really, really want this game to be good, because if it does, maybe Game Freak will experiment more with the pokemon formula, and while they still have enough time + delays if necessary to fix the graphics issue, it’s still a problem right now
