- Ok fellas, what's the best zombie game?
-
Undead Nightmare is the best zombie dlc
ID: ha11llqID: ha26imgSame here, taming the War Horse..so epic... I have vivid memories of it.
Plus survivor management too! Not many people talk about it... but when the survivors die.. they are dead for good.
It's an amazing expansion.
-
Left 4 dead 2
ID: ha0yw0fIt's such a long game too. It was kinda short when it was released, but it got a ton of free extra content after release on PC.
ID: ha13r9bAside from the free stuff from Valve, you have no idea how massive the game can be on steam man. The amount of stuff in the workshop that adds new guns, characters, even voice lines. Hell there’s even a Thomas The Tank theme song that plays when a tank spawns. Best zombie game IMO.
ID: ha1c4k8is there like a main story mode or campaign? I tried playing once but remember it being like multiplayer lobbies on random maps. But I would love to dive into a good zombie storyline.
-
Spoiler alert: the little guy wins.
ID: ha2vi8nPretty easily too. Especially if you got Onion Bro with you.
-
Well yes, but also Dying Light
ID: ha11ihrCRAAAAAAAANE!
ID: ha1s2ydCRRRRRAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNEEEEEE!!!!!

Dying Light is pretty much the only zombie game that has ever scared me. That one mission where you look through the fence and a volatile pops right out and you have to run back to base in the pitch black while these things are chasing you. The atmosphere, combat, parkour... It's all perfect. Story wasn't amazing but it was decent enough and the Following DLC was even better.
Best zombie game I've played hands down. Here's hoping that DL2 surpasses it.
ID: ha1ea33That one mission sold me on the game, I wasn't that into it until that moment. I agree on the story being a little weak, but the gameplay made up for it.
-
Left 4 dead
ID: ha0k8m0Same to me
-
I am scared to say but I loved State of Decay 2.
-
I mean, it’s not just COD5, it’s also Gears of War 2, and Left 4 Dead
-
There was a zombie mode in a Warcraft 3 online custom maps. It was the best zombie game ever.
-
I remember zombies mod for CoD2.
-
Re2
-
Project Zomboid
-
Everyone uses this meme wrong....
ID: ha10ab1It's specially bad when used in a gaming sub
ID: ha12rhpWhat is the correct usage? I wasn’t a souls player
ID: ha13hy7The original usage is supposed to be "yeah sure that guy on the right is huge and intimidating, but the small guy kicks his ass"
ID: ha13feyThe other other way around. The giant looks scarrier but the unkindled one (the little dude) is more powerful
-
Pavlov VR. It has all the great COD zombie maps and more like Minecraft maps with creeper zombies
-
DayZ is my favorite. Maybe not the best, but... it's my favorite.
-
Killing floor 2
-
Does Dead Space count? If so, that.
-
Project zomboid, without a doubt. No question

Zombies peaked in BlOps 1. Awesome selection of maps, including the original four. You could go for a pretty standard game of Kino, or you could race to get across the map to stop the excavator while being chased by zombies, nova crawlers, astronauts and time limits, while also not suffocating in Moon.
In BlOps 2, the maps got unnecessarily complicated. Mob is often touted as an amazing map, but you need to basically do the easter egg just to get Pack-a-Punch. It wasn't too bad on Mob, but then you got Origins, and then it basically became standard practise.
ID: ha0z6ehI was not a fan of how complicated maps got. Gotta collect these parts, solve this puzzle, and go through several hoops to get an adequate game session. I remember having to consistently look up a youtube tutorials on how to do things for origins. That killed the flow of the game.
Black ops 1 was where it peaked for me. Solid maps without the needless complexity.
ID: ha20wx5I feel like the spirit of CoDZombies is missing now. Same game play, just doesn't feel the same because of all the shit they jumble together. Now I will say I actually do like Firebase Z and the adventure mode one from Cold War but besides that BLOPs had the absolute best maps. Keep them small, keep things hectic, stop shoehorning tons of stuff into the maps and stop making them the sizes of cities

Halo 3 matchmaking had a fun zombie mode…
-
Plant vs zombies
-
BO2
-
Halo 3 infection
-
Days gone.
-
dying light
-
Best zombie game? I'm seeing a lot of Cod Zombies, Dying Light, and Left 4 Dead on here, and surprisingly, nobody has said the true classic: Plants VS Zombies.
-
Cod and dying light 2
-
This might ruffle a few feathers, but for pure zombie carnage I absolutely adored Dead Rising 3. Capcom really nailed the swarm behaviour, and the atmosphere of the ruined city really lent some weight to the horror side of a zombie apocalypse.
It was as daft as a brush, and as gory as it needed to be, with plenty to explore and some cracking boss fights to punctuate the slaughter.
Dead Rising 4 was crap, though.
-
Pavlov VR, people have ported COD zombies maps to it and they work well, along with its own built in zombies that works on almost all maps.
-
Bo2
-
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead
-
Black ops 3 if were talking call of duty.
Zombies on the moon.
Zombies in a castle where you blow up the moon.
Zombies in straight up space as you bounce between previous maps.
Lot of combinations of my two favorite things: space and the undead.

There are a lot of good arguments against CoD having the best zombies, but due to my age at it's release and what it meant to my friends and I at the time, WaW zombies will forever be ingrained in my head as some of the most fun I've ever had playing a zombies game.
I'm a history nerd who first got hooked thanks to World War 2 in Color on my grandpas TV and WaW captured that somber feeling of death and loss I get when reading about the war that no CoD has been able to replicate since. I still shudder at the opening to the WaW menu screen.

Best map for cod zombies is transit on cod bo2

That's one of the rare times that I wanted something really out there and specific for a game and actually got it. And not only that, but it was better than I imagined.
